Petite Galleria exists as a tiny jewel of a boutique, showing the world that it isn't about size or quantity, but rather how things are done. It is a place where one can count on finding truly unique treasures and gifts clearly made with love. Small batch, eco-conscious, quality laden, unique expressions, beautiful and wonderful trifles, rituals, and details one can add to one's life or gift to a loved one!
Our mascot is the Celestial Tortoise. Slow and steady is the tortoise and what a long life it lives! So too our dreams should be clear as the stars in the night sky drawing us to follow them daily, however slowly. Ultimately, the long game is inspirational. So many artists and artisans who have contributed to Petite Galleria are filled with the wonder and joy of that spirit!

We hadn't been to Japantown in San Jose before, but we regularly visit Japantown in San Francisco. Since we were going to be in San Jose anyway, we planned on walking through the neighborhood and I'm glad we did. It's just a few blocks, from what we saw and most of the stores and restaurants were closed on Sunday, but stumbling across Petite Galleria made it worthwhile.
One of those nooks with barely more than a shadowbox-sized space, it reminded me of one - a tiny opening to a treasure trove of cuteness! Leeonnista was there to help show us items when we tried to point to the trinkets

I happened to be walking through japantown and they were OPEN! They had a lovely array of holiday cards on display for reasonable prices. When they didn't have more of the card I wanted, she was so sweet & gave me a chocolate instead! So thoughtful.
This shop is OPEN, but I think the best thing to do is browse their website then order the things you like for pick up.

Charming, petite and down-to-earth. Customer service is great. The nice lady today was so welcoming and even offered to close the store a little bit later so that I could have more time to look around the shop. The items they sell are beautiful and are by local artists. It is a little pricey but it's great to give support and the store is filled with great gifts for a friend or yourself :) The store is literally petite and can allow just about 2-3 customers inside, but it still is a really cute store. Will definitely come again :)

This is a tiny yet magnificent art and trinket store right in the main part of ye olde Japantown.
Parking is street only, but in Japantown that just means if there ios not a spot right in front then you'll be down a block or so. If needs must there is a city owned lot over by 6th and Jackson.
So when I say small I'm not kidding. This place will be full with three people inside. The good news here is that if there is already someone inside they won't be in too long as it won't take more then ten to fifteen minutes-at the most-to cover the entire store.

A little gem in San Jose's Japan Town!
Supporting local artists, the owner presents the cutest array of handmade trinkets, jewelry, art, and other memorable items.
The name follows through with the location - it's a very small store, but it took my friends and me a good 15 or so minutes to look through everything - A+ on the use of space!
It's a fun stop to simply look around and see all the unique works of art and little baubles they have in stock. This is also the perfect place to find unique gifts, and they sell really cute greeting cards too!

Hidden gem in J-town that we just happened upon, even though we are there frequently!
Found some unique gift items of high quality, and the owners kindness and knowledge of her products made for a fun shopping experience. The use of space is creative - we loved opening up drawers and finding more treasures.....Go here!

Fresh & modern to traditional & conservative functional art you can wear & use.
Petit Galleria is an appropriate name for this itsy bitsy tiny shop located in the heart of J-town.
My daughters loved the earrings that was beautifully wrapped/boxed for me this
Christmas.
I've had so many positive compliments on my broccoli earrings that I returned to purchase more whimsical crocheted bears, mice, oranges & piggy earrings for myself!
This is truly J-town's new secret gem.

Look closely because you might miss this gem in Japantown. I live in the apartments across the street and love that I am just a block away from all the wonderful food and shops of Jjapantown, but it took me a year to find Petite Galleria. They have things sitting out on the street, which is what caught my eye and I found the cutest handmade, local fox bag. They curate all their work from local artists and have everything from clutches and earrings, to post cards and soap. Stop by for a treat and snag something incredibly unique.

Super charming art gallery/gift shop at the heart of Japantown in San Jose. I almost did not notice the tiny store (the cute decor seduced me!). The guy that was there the day I went (during Japantown Spring festival) was very nice and explaining that all they sell is from local artists and surely there are tons of artists in San Jose and surroundings making adorable embroidery purses, intricate earrings and, oh, those painted walls and floors. As some other Yelper described, I had the same feeling of being in an Etsy store converted into studio. Very nice.

This is a tiny little shop that is stuffed to the gills with beautiful things.
There was a lot to comb through here. It might look like Etsy made a nest in a studio apartment, but the range of styles becomes more obvious if you look closely enough. There was a gorgeous, beaded Peter Pan style collar necklace. There was an original art print of a person committing suicide from a bridge. There were felt animal masks for children (or kinky adults?). There were handbags made from repurposed materials.
For the budget-conscious shopper, it's worth noting that many of these items were affordable

The Petite Galleria is so cute. It really is tiny, but the saying is true, "good things come in small packages." April has done a wonderful job making the most of this tiny little space and she is providing a marvelous outlet to independent artisans, artists, authors, etc. There is so much to explore in this gem of a galleria. You may even catch a glimpse of April composing her own music while browsing hand made jewelry. This little Galleria is a big explosion of creativity!!! It's worth checking out!
