Services
The mission of Active Recovery Boston is to be your soft tissue injury experts. Our goal is not only to treat your injury, but also educate you in the process. We want you to know why you became injured. We want you to understand your treatment process. And we want you to have all the knowledge necessary to prevent your injury from returning.
Our doctors share recommend exercises for different muscle groups and demonstrate proper form and technique to ensure injury avoidance. Regular exercise of a weakened area is critical to strengthening that area. Moving well is living well. Our doctors demonstrate proper form and technique for reducing injury and strengthening the hamstring muscle.
As soft tissue specialists, we carefully analyze the way your body moves. We use functional tests, orthopedic exams, joint palpation, and muscle tests to determine what's working, what's not working, and what's working improperly. We identify functional deficits, weaknesses, or imbalances. From there we determine which treatment or treatments are best suited for your specific injury.
The chiropractic profession offers countless techniques, philosophies, and patient care models. Among all the variability, the one uniting element is the chiropractic adjustment and/or the chiropractic mobilization. The goal of a chiropractic adjustment or mobilization is to restore normal motion to joints that are restricted.
What is Active Release Technique? Active Release Technique (ART) is a state of the art, patented, soft tissue technique for injuries in the soft tissue-muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, joints capsules, and nerves. Who needs ART? Anyone who is experiencing limited range of motion, tightness, pain and has changes in normal movement patterns at work or sport.

Dr. Alison Di Salvo was fantastic. She has an easy presence and great way of putting you at ease. She was great about asking a lot of questions and testing areas to ensure she had a full understanding of the issue before she recommended any specific treatment. My initial consult and treatment was yesterday and I am already feeling positive results from it!

It’s been years since I’ve been seen at ARB, which is an acronym for Active Release Boston. I realize how beneficial the difference in the technique used at ARB is, compared to other chiropractic practices. I’m a very active middle aged individual I was seen today by Dr. Abbie Zubiel. She was very knowledgeable in diagnosing my foot problem, as well as beginning my treatment. I’m looking forward to working with ARB and getting back to my normal routine.

ARB quickly assessed my issues and needs and refined a program around rehabilitation. Dry needling is not a pleasant experience, but Dr. Zubiel and her team make it as painless as possible! Super easy to coordinate first and follow up sessions and I've noticed improved mobility, function, and comfort immediately. Highly recommended.

As always, Dr. Zubiel is outstanding in understanding the diagnosis, and offering excellent PT, as she has in the past. Highest rating to Dr. Zubiel, and all those who at ARB, who have no peers, in treating athletes, with strains, injuries, and related problems. Unqualified and highest praise.

I have been a patient since February and see Dr. Tran in the Franklin location although started with Dr. Zubiel who is amazing as well (Boston location where she practices is not convenient which is why I made the change). I have been going to chiropractors for over 20 years and very impressed with this practice. They always seem to have the most cutting edge approach to treating their patients with updated techniques and equipment. I am an athlete who wants to rehab injuries as soon as possible and get back at it. Dr. Tran is a terrific listener and always seems to be one step ahead of treatment

Dr. Zubiel works miracles. I don't work or live in the city so commuting is difficult for me. However, I find myself coming back every time to get her treatment. I've been to a handful of other PT/Chiropractic offices and no one can compare. The ART work she does is incredible and there's no BS when you go there. She gets right to work and fixes the problems at hand. Little small talk, with a lot of results. I recommend her work to anyone that is serious about solving their soft tissue/joint issues. Best place around for athletes who want immediate results.

I cannot express how much relief Dr. Kate Kelly along with Dr. Tran has given me for neck pain and loss of mobility. Their approach is completely different than any treatment I have received in the past. Within 5 appointments I've made major improvement and have so much relief. You guys are the best. Facility and staff are awesome too!
