Town Chalet Motel
We have been providing near real-time images of Mount St. Helens since the late 1990s. The near real-time images of Mount St. Helens are taken from the Johnston Ridge Observatory (JRO) using two VolcanoCam High Definitioncameras. The (JRO) and VolcanoCams are located at an elevation of approximately 4,200 feet, about five miles from the volcano.

The cameras look approximately south-southeast across the North Fork Toutle River Valley. The motel features 28 rooms which includes smoking and non smoking rooms with micro fridge, in-room coffee machine, free local phone calls, cable TV with HBO, free hi-speed internet, wi-fi, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board.

Why 5 stars?

It's not the fanciest. But the couple running it are so nice. The rooms are clean and huge. Quiet area and all around great little old school motel.

Routinely ignored DnD sign and tried to get into our room while we were there. Each time the chain caught the door they would run off. I'd call the front and they would lie about it even though I had just seen them. When I asked for a refund after the third time this happened the front desk waved receipts in my face and told me too bad we already have your money. Staying here would be a huge mistake.

Do not stay here!!!!! What a waste of $93.50. The carpets are filthy, it looks like blood in the closet/vanity area, I had to spray the room because of the smell!! They only provide plastic cups that weren't even individually covered, how cheap are the owners...the fridge handle was broken, the remote volume didn't work. And finally the shower, the water was either scalding hot or too cold....I spent half the time adjusting the temperature!!! I only stayed here because it was so late, my car would of been more comfortable.

What a S-hole! Dirty sheets, dirty table top, I think the bathroom hasn't been swept in months, and pretty sure there was blood on the carpet. Don't stay there. Too much money for a dump.

Well I am not quite sure what to say. We are on the road, and just checking out reviews when we decide we need to place to stay or eat. This place was getting good reviews, and rightfully so. We got in and the staff (husband and wife who live in one of the rooms) waited up for us because we called ahead. We pulled in around 10pm, and could not see much (probably better that way), got the key and were grilled about being non-smokers. I kind of liked that.

The hotel room was clean, large, and had a whirlpool tub. It looks like the hotel rooms are old apartments without the kitchens. The most
