Well I wish my last name was Vanderbilt right now. Being a historian, I was absolutely drooling in here today. 3 floors worth of museum quality antiquities and I was seriously tempted to just buy everything. And I literally mean everything. The $125,000 painting of George Washington hanging upstairs was very hard to walk away from. So were some of the $15,000 clocks and secretaries.
In all seriousness, we were both in complete awe walking through and seeing high level antiquities today. Totally not kid or clutz friendly. A total hidden gem for history nerds though.

Exceptionally beautiful antiques that could well be displayed in a museum - but available to take home - if you have the money, that is. A gorgeous partner's desk, circa 1850 with a leather top is yours for $15,000. How about a head turning mid-19th century model boat discovered on Cape Cod and with original paint: $15,000 again. All kinds of beautiful authentic and true American crafts and antiques - worth a walk through if you value the best antiques money can buy - but don't touch anything - please! There are small signs explaining the history of most items and if you have questions
