This place is overpriced unprofessional joke of a business. Went in to buy supplies and parts for tidewater 23’ boat. Their service Dept gave me wrong parts. They would not honor my return. Was in the market for new 27’ center console next year.

Took boat in for annual service, boat was running fine before service.
They returned boat to me twice in a non operative condition. The boat had to be returned to the shop 3 times just to get it running. It ran fine before I took it in.
They installed the wrong impeller causing the engine to overheat. Obviously they didn’t test the engine after they finished service. They refused to issue a partial refund.
The only good thing I can say is that everyone there is helpful and nice. They did work diligently to get the boat running, boat none of that would

We purchased a brand new Tidewater 21lxf, $55000.00. We had it in our possession for approximately 2 hours when we found transom was very wavy and there is a 3 to 4 inch round repair in the hull to left of engine. Since there were other minor quality issues that Mathews Marine was going to repair, we it brought to the salesman’s attention (Ed), he said he would have contact Tidewater to have them inspect and fix, 2 weeks later nothing, no calls, no repairs. Stored our beautiful boat and picked it up dirty, full of mildew. Canvas covers were full.of mildew and stained. This is the first time our boat was stored outside and it is a mess. They have us an estimate of over $2500. to get it ready for the season. Then called with more work they wanted to do. We told them no, dont do anything. They still.bolled is over $600. and we are doubtful they did anything at all.

I saw a rare boat being brokered by Matthews Marine on a website, made an appointment to see the boat, took a vacation day, drove 8 hours, and spent a night in a hotel room, to meet the schedule. When I showed up for my appointment they couldn't run the engine because they said the owner had left with the key. No effort made to get a key, just sent me on my way to drive 8 more hours home. Didn't look like they'd prepared for my visit: no water run to the boat, no signs the engine had been run recently. Used boats and out-of-town customers seem to be considered burdens to them.

Matthews Marine did a great job for me. They washed and waxed my boat and made it look like brand new. All the scuff marks were removed and the mildew on the chairs were eradicated. The Boat looks great and their service team is second to none. They were a less than many other boat dealers nearby. All their staff were great and a pleasure to deal with. If you need anything done on your boat I would not hesitate to use them. They are the best, period.

Don't do business here. They will call you and have you fix other things that they want to make money on and then they will not stand behind their work. I sent my boat there and almost $4000 later what they screwed up I had to pay to fix. It was only a simple year maintenance that they had to complete... Go to MARINE TECH if you want it fixed right. DO NOT DO YOUR BUSINESS HERE... I don't work for either company, I just strongly urge people not to support business that takes advantage of people.
