In my opinion, visual artists are predominantly introverted. Sequestering themselves within their work, distancing themselves when in creation mode. I've spent the majority of my younger years in blissful solitude while creating art, but as i grew into a tattoo artist it forced me to put my art on other people's bodies.

Traditional tattoos to me are a combination of 20th century North American influenced images combined with ancient Japanese methods of solid line work, simple shading and bold color. Not the 90's tribal armband, but images that have derived from ancient Islanders, and seafarers style tattoo work. Japanese style tattoos are a sign of respect and strength.
The Board of Body Art Practitioners As the Chairman for the regulatory body that governs licensure all body artists of New Mexico, I believe in communication. There is usually a lack ofhealthy communication between those who regulate and those who are regulated, bodyartists are no exception. But my method of leadership is through healthy and open communication.
