When you're the primary care provider for a loved one, it can have a negative impact on your physical and emotional health over time. If you don't take breaks, you can end up doing more harm than good for your loved one. Respite care is designed to give you a break, we are proud to offer it to New Jersey families.

In the early stages of cognitive decline, people with dementia or Alzheimer's might still seem to be their usual selves. In time, however, persons suffering from these kinds of conditions can develop a tendency to walk off unexpectedly. It's not unusual for a memory care resident to have previous experiences that correspond with this.
Suited to both your budget and personal needs, each of our senior living apartments is perfectly appointed, ensuring both comfort and around-the-clock security. Equipped with safety and security measures, each room is designed to minimize risks while making it easy for our residents to enjoy full mobility and independence.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at Heritage. The transition from independent to assisted living is a big & nerve-wrecking one, but Heritage made it so easy for my mom. They have been there every step of the way to support me and her as we got ready for this big change. My mom is really enjoying her time at Heritage so far. I am so thankful she has this new place to call home!

I moved my mother to Heritage Assisted Living about a month ago, from a nursing home. (If you've had that experience you might understand). Mom has dementia. Everyone from the administrator and community relations director, to the CNA's are ALL very patient, caring and professional. Athough I know dealing with someone with dementia is very challenging they've given me a sense of comfort having her there. Coming from the nursing home experience I am amazed at the level of care my mother gets daily in this assisted living environment. She's feeling happier and like she's getting her life and dignity

My mom has been at Heritage for quite some time and has required more care most recently. The staff transitioned immediately with her care plan, and overseeing her safety, while continuing to extend warmth and respect for her. I receive updates often whether during my frequent visits or by phone. From my experiences, the staff is always willing to help.

This place is horrible. My grandmother is here and is upstairs in the locked unit. The aids are nasty and yell at the residents, the place smells horrible, it's dirty and they don't assist their residents. They all sit around and just yell at the poor elders. My grandmothers clothes were on another resident and all her food went missing in a matter of hours. They are treated like caged animals. I have never seen group activities even though it's on a calander. Good luck getting the owner to call you back. That never happens.. please stay far away. I wouldn't give this place any stars.
