Sophisticated Yet Fun Environment in a Beautifully Restored 1892 Bi-Level Brick Building. Rich in Spokane history, the Tamarack was first built in the late 1800s as the Settlemeir Mercantile and beautifully renovated in 2015 into Tamarack Public House and Events. The high ceilings along with the exposed brick, craftsman woodwork and custom bars adds to an already gorgeous venue.
Tamarack achieves the right balance between intimate and spacious. Providing a Loft with Private Bar, Main Floor with Private Bar and Spacious Patio with water feature and fire pit. The venue is located Downtown Spokane in the shadow of the Historic Davenport Hotel. We had an excellent work event tonight at the Tamarack.

They are doing a great job during the pandemic! The seating is all outside (for now, at least) and has lots of space between tables. It's also clear that they are taking sanitation very seriously (wiping down tables/chairs, hand sanitizer at tables, etc.). The food here is delicious and the service is very friendly. One of my favorites in Spokane!

I visited for the first time during restaurant week, it took 1 hour to get our food after ordering (4 people). My steak was way over-cooked from what I ordered but didn’t want to send it back and have to wait another hour for it to come out. The rest of the food was just okay but nothing I would come back and order again. The atmosphere is nice and I like how it’s decorated, but was disappointed with the food and service.

Tamarack had exactly what we were looking for! Something with share-ables, a patio, and dog friendly. We ordered the Chicken Nachos and Pretzel Breadsticks with pub cheese, both were delicious!! They are also doing a great job at keeping everything sanitary and provide sanitizer at each table for people. Great experience!

Tamarack is a fun, family environment with delicious homemade food and craft cocktails. The fireplace room is cozy! Ideal for drinking hot cocktails or a cold beer and great for warming up when it’s cold. Great beer selection and a plethora of locally sourced ingredients! Would recommend calling ahead to make a reservation!

We with friends parked right next to this small Pub to walk up the street to taste at Helix, then checked the menu as we were heading off to find dinner, and decided to stay as the patio looked nice. Young man that helped us was a delight... made our evening fun! Had burgers and a BLT, also the Brats app ... all were tasty and well prepared! LOVED the coleslaw! Beers and an old-fashioned were great. Weather was very warm that evening but the patio was nicely cool. Enjoyable light dinner.

Love this place! I've been here in Spokane over a year now and keep coming back to good ol Tamarack. It's kept up really nice and everything is always so clean and orderly, and the quality of food is great! Plus the owners are so friendly, it's a family-run business and they take the time to get to know you, which I definitely appreciate. Service isn't always the fastest because of this so maybe don't come here when you're in a hurry. Also, they are sometimes (more often than other businesses) closed for private parties, so you might want to double check to make sure they're open. The beer, cocktail

Tamarack is easily one of the best restaurants in town. If you're looking for comfy vibes, delicious food, and and dog friendly patio look no further. Leo and Teresa are wonderful people who have created the best atmosphere as well as magnificent plates for you to enjoy before a show or to celebrate an anniversary. It's great for an intimate gathering, but would also be great for work or family dinners. When anyone asks, I recommend Tamarack every time!!

Great spot! We we're there for dinner on a Friday night. It was so delicious. The pub Mac and cheese was some of the best I have had. Their side salads are actually a good size, they don't skimp. Staff was wonderful. I was jealous of the nachos others in our group shared as their main meal. So good and they were able to get full sharing! One had the burger, which was also recommended. Definitely want to go back!

First off this review is not based on the food....
That being said, I understand this place books out for private events but it's 2019 and if you can't keep an online profile and communicate that with the public then that's a problem.
My family and I planned birthday dinner and this has been on our list for quite some time. We drove out from the valley only to find that they were closed. Nothing on their Facebook nothing on their website and they wouldn't even answer their phone.
All you have to do is give a college intern a free pint a week to run your social media and

I went here for my birthday a couple weeks ago.
The staff were great! My waiter was funny and really nice, and the bartender was as well. He even wrote down instructions a family member told him to make a drink he didn't know.
The food was delicious and so were the drinks. We will definitely be back!

We just had an excellent work event tonight at the Tamarack. They easily adapted to the requests of our group and preferences and kept the food platters filled and beverages flowing! The staff was so friendly, especially since we were definitely in the way at times as they were working to host another group.
I plan many events throughout the year and always am so thankful when a venue exceeds our expectations and hopes!
A big thank you to Teresa and Aidan! I wish I lived here full time and could host more events here.

I have organized three private corporate parties at Tamarack Public House over the last eighteen months. The owners, Leo and Teresa Gonder, are wonderful to work with, highly knowledgeable, professional and just overall nice people. They go above and beyond to make sure we are pleased, but most important, our guests are pleased. I also have to praise the staff who always greet me with a smile and a prompt, pleasant attitude.
They offer an extensive craft beer and cocktail selection that compliment the fresh farm-to-table menu options. I could write all day about the beautiful atmosphere. They

Came here before a concert at the knitting factory. We were short on time and this place was right across the street. Nice cozy place. We sat on the patio. Our server and i use to go to elementary school together. Ha. So that was a nice surprise.
We ordered the pretzel and cheese, chicken thighs and clams. All in all pretty good. But there were just certain things that I wanted to be different. Like the bread they used for the pretzel or the broth used with the clams. Everything was cooked well. Just not my preference.
I can see this being a great place to drop in for a happy hour drink and

I was in town for work and chose to come here for dinner on a Tuesday. To my surprise and delight, there was a bluegrass band of 9 people upstairs jamming for hours. They were all so talented!
I ate my delicious chili and a well-made cocktail and ate happily to the soulful tunes. I'll be back!
Tip: Live music (bluegrass) is played on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.

Came here for happy hour on a Thursday and it was around 4:30pm, right after they opened. Great time to go - there was no one there and it wasn't busy. We were sat right away.
I walked over from a parking meter and got to take in the AMAZING downtown vibes, and the Tamarack contributes to that aesthetic with a patio gazebo with cafe lights, a fountain right outside, cool breeze and shade and then you get inside...
The high ceilings, garage door, brick walls, more cafe lights, and awesome looking wood tables really give the pub vibe with a hint of upscale classiness.

This place was nothing special. It had a weird vibe like the owners couldn't decide what they wanted the atmosphere to be.
The drinks were okay but definitely over priced. We asked about a happy hour and the waiter just brushed it off.
The menu was confusing, and when I asked about a drink the waiter just "joked" that he could help me read?? Whatttt

The food here seems to be better than a lot of the other joints, but the service sucks. I ordered a beer which is pretty hard to mess up. We were there over 2 hours just trying to do a simple dinner and drink(s). The nachos I ordered were definitely unique, but good. They were kind of soggy by the end. The manager(?) came over while we were waiting for our check and told us they had other parties waiting and that we needed to go...This happened after we waited FOREVER for food and drinks, and then again for the check, and then again for the card to come back out. If you're going to kick people

I've had this place bookmarked for a while but have never made it to that part of town. I decided to try it out with my cousin on my day off.
The restaurant was very spacious. There is dining upstairs although I didn't get to check it out. There's two options for outdoor seating, one on the side of the restaurant with some sunlight (there are umbrellas), and one directly at the front of the restaurant with a roof above so there is shade at all times.
Walked in, was greeted right away and told we could sit anywhere we'd like. We ordered salmon sliders, lamb sliders , and

We came here after a wedding a Barrister's winery and it was perfect. There was plenty of room on this Saturday night for our group and they ahd the front "windows" fully open since it was a warm summer night. The drink selection was on par with any other bar and the food selection the same.
We had the hummas plate and it was typical of bar food you would find anywhere. What set this place apart for the vibe and the water that they had for self service by the door. It was the perfect place for our purposes (music wasn't too loud) and the servers not too pushy. The downtown

Come for the drinks and atmosphere, skip the food.
So, it has been over a year since I was last here. I went here for dinner with a group of coworkers, many of them were from outside the US.
We arrived before 6 PM on a Monday, we expected to wait since they open at 6. They opened over 10 minutes early just because we arrived early. That was very nice, they didn't have to do that.
The staff gave us the option of where to sit. They have a nice area outside but it was a little cool outside so we decided on the main dining area. This was another plus. Things were really looking up.

Where do I begin. Being a restaurant connoisseur, I have Really wanted to try this place, so decided restaurant week was the perfect time (after all, isn't restaurant week about trying new places?) after reading the reviews on this site and others, my friend and I were leary but decided to give it a go. Worst mistake ever.
Orders were taken, I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the pork chop. We were told the pork chop takes 40 minutes to cook, we were ok with that, no prob. Our appetizers arrived 30 minutes later. Ok, so the apps were a lot late no prob...Wait another 30 minutes and
