Fate and a combined passion for the wine industry brought two families together to create Continental Divide Winery. Part-time Breckenridge residents Jeffrey and Ana Maltzman owned two successful wineries in California.
Ten years ago the Maltzmans, their two daughters and their two Australian Shepherds were walking down Main Street in Breckenridge when they spotted Colorado winemakers and Alma residents Kent Hutchison and Angela Bryan, their two daughters and their two Australian Shepherds walking the other direction. The couples and their girls have been fast friends ever since.

Services
Consistently rated as one of the top ten things to do in Breckenridge, our Wine Blending Experience gives you a rare opportunity to be a winemaker! We offer Wine Blending Experiences daily in our Breckenridge Tasting Room. To ensure individual attention, each session is limited to approximately 8 guests (larger private group sessions are available by special arrangement).
Continental Divide is a family business founded by Jeffrey & Ana Maltzman. Jeffrey serves as the company's Chief Amazement Officer while Ana works as our Chief Tasting Officer. Daughters Lexie and Jess help on the bottling line, at the vineyard, and with winery marketing. Australian Shepard winery dog Timber keeps careful watch on our vineyard while our Bernese Mountain Dog Scout is a frequent visitor and mascot for our tasting room.
We are proud to have earned a GOLD MEDAL in the Resource Wise sustainable merchant program and in 2018 were awarded their PEAK OF SUSTAINABILITY award for achieving the highest sustainability score program wide. Advanced fermentation technology used on many of our wines with a goal of using up to 90% less waste water and 95% less sanitation agents than the average winery;.

I visited the Breckenridge tasting room on Saturday with my girlfriend and black lab and wow we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was a delight and our server, Michelle, had perfect recommendations! We loved the Albariño and Storm blend! I am happy we decided to join the wine club and can’t wait to visit again.

2 stars because the staff was friendly. The wine is one star.
We did flights - with the thought process that we were going to get the features of the winery. One would think you’d put your best wines forward. However, it was a $20-30/tasting of 3 buck chuck. 3 buck chuck is at least honest that they’re a cheap California wine. Chalky, wet newspaper, kerosene (and not in a good way) are some tasting notes that come to mind. Underwhelming is the word that I would use to describe. I don’t even like California wines and I would choose anything from Sonoma or Napa over this.

My parents and I visited later on a Saturday night, about 30 minutes before closing. I really wanted to do a tasting flight but unfortunately the lady working there said it was too late. She asked what type of wine we liked, and after we told her, she brought us out 3 small samples of 3 different wines to try. We all agreed on a bottle and took it with us to enjoy at our hotel. It was so nice of her to provide some samples so we could select the perfect bottle of wine! Will definitely be back when we’re in town again!

<< THIS PLACE IS HAPPENING >> best apres-ski in Peak 9 base area. The wine is really good and they had great deals when you buy take away bottles after the tasting. I did the white and red tasting menu and it was absolutely worth it. They only serve wine, so be ready! Or buy some cheese and meat from the cheese shop across them. TIP: weather provided, get a fire table outside.
