I have shopped Sonya’s several times but that’s it, never again! I purchased several dresses for formal affairs Weddings, Proms, etc. all around $500. Each
Straw that broke the camels back is when they refused to have beads resewn on a dress. In fact I was told they could put it back on the rack as is.....unfortunately I had already purchased the dress. Oh did I mention no refunds or exchanges!
Their horrendous customer service is absolutely appalling.....Good-bye, good riddens, good luck......by Felica

Absolutly awful, I went there to look for a prom dress... mind you I’m 16 and a size 4 in jeans. I know sizes do run up but they gave me size 14 dresses and told me I was still too big for them. I have never felt more embarresed in my life or ugly. I asked to try on some dresses and there response would be “no that won’t fit you”. I had a appointment to look at dresses but because I wasn’t 5’7 and 100 pounds they wouldn’t let me look in the mirror or help me at all. Way to make a young costumer feel great about herself!

We had a wonderful experience prom dress shopping for my daughter at Sonya's. The dresses were well organized, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful and the dress my daughter decided on is beautiful. Great selection of dresses too - lots of great choices even amidst COVID related shortages. Definitely recommend!

The management and/or owners of this "boutique" should be ashamed! Women should be supporting each other not looking for ways to embarrass and body shame each other. The staff are rude! Based on previous reviews over at least 3 years, this treatment of customers is rule not the exception. To all the ladies reading this, unless you want to be laughed at, ridiculed, embarrassed or shamed, do not go to this shop...... unless, of course, you're 5'9", 95-100lbs or enjoy humiliation.

Robin and Francesca are good, but Hailey (assistant manager) and Sonya (owner) are out for the store, not the customer. Charged us 20.00 restocking fee for switching a dress within a week even of it being on layaway l. The store is STILL making money it was a change. They almost made my daughter keep the original dress. You the customer choose what to buy. Then the dress we switched had beading missing one associate said no problem bring it in. Of course Hailey sorry we can’t fix it! Smh beware. When shopping here. Some of their policies are bull sh%! You should make customer happy. These things

Purchased a beautiful Jovani dress full price for prom plus shoes. We were informed that they kept a log of school, style, dress and color so dresses would not be bought by another student from the same school. We were upset to see another student was able to purchase the same dress in another color with no concern with their "policy'. When contacted I got the run around and was told that they can't control who buys what dress and the dress could be bought anywhere (NY,CT, NJ). I was delighted with my experience at Sonya's! I needed a dress for an upcoming formal event and wasn't sure what type I wanted. Nelly was very attentive and helpful. She gave me honest feedback and picked many dresses that complimented me well. She knew my size without having to ask and immediately went to work pulling dresses in my price range. The store was attractive, clean, neat, and organized. The changing rooms were large and private. They also had dresses in every style, size, and price range. I look forward to shopping there again for my next event!

Nelly and the girls at Sonya's were amazing. The owner was a different story. I arrived with my 3 and 16 year old and was greeted with a sign indicating children under 13 needed to stay in a seating area. I respect rules which is why before we even stepped further into the dress store, I asked Nelly if we should come back since I had my toddler, she said no, she's being so well behaved, please just don't let her touch anything. I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was there today. It's so hard for my daughter to find a dress. There are not many options out there. She was so excited to have at least 15 to try on. Nelly was exceptional. She was very attentive and helpful. It made it much easier. We will definitely go here again as prom season approaches, I suggest you do too!

This was the first time we spent $$$ on a dress for my daughter. The day she picked up her dress there was a rip in the slit, runs in the material and stains that were not there the day she tried it on and put it on layaway. I was appalled at the condition of the dress. I was given a $50 discount and was told the store's seamstress would make it right. My mom went to pick it up the next day. She was told I knew they couldn't get the stains out and I was okay with it. Who in their right mind is ok with paying $400+ for a dress with stains?!?!!!

I love shopping at Sonya's, especially during their Tent sales. The staff goes out of their way to provide that "personal shopper" experience, showing you different pieces to try on to find the perfect outfit. They are also very honest when it comes to telling you how things fit or if the items go together. I highly recommend this shop for any wardrobe item from jeans to dresses.
