When Mocse Federal Credit Union was granted its charter in February of 1959, Mocse's membership consisted of seven members and an asset size of $35.00. These seven founding members recognized that employees of Modesto City Schools were in need of financial services provided by a credit union. They were correct in this assumption.
At each year's annual meeting, the membership elects a Board of Directors, who are responsible for establishing policy, planning the direction of the credit union, declaring dividends, and setting interest rates. These Board members are unpaid volunteers serving their peers, another aspect of the unique character of credit unions.
Mocse Credit Union offers membership to persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located within Stanislaus, Merced, Mariposa and Tuolumne Counties, California. I was with this bank for 16 years. In the last several year and especially in the last year they turned into worst and most incompetent bank I've ever dealt with.
They literally cost me hundreds of dollars because of their mistakes and only offered 100$ in compensation.
I could write pages about all the crap they pulled on my in the last few months I was there.
Since I left their bank I've had zero issues with my direct deposited being deposited on the scheduled date, instad of a random date after the date it was supposed to be deposited.

I have been banking with Mocse for 10 years and there staff is amazing! Cullen Bearden was very helpful with me when I had a question regarding my account with something that looked suspicious. Just came in to pay my car payment, the usual every month, since the app is not good! Just had a really bad experience with a VERY rude teller. One of the only guys I've seen as a teller at this location. He was condescending and uncaring in every way. Such a simple transaction, I can't imagine having to deal with this person any longer than the couple of minutes he had to spare me! So disappointing. I hope he's not there when I come in next time, I won't be going to him ever again. You're in the customer service industry, you should care about the customer and not talk

Shane was super nice and helpful today. I came in a little frazzled after a stressful Dr. appointment this morning and I explained to him that I am not 100% sure on how everything works regarding loans and whatnot. Even though I'm pretty sure I came off as unorganized and unprepared he still helped me out and explained everything in the best way he could, and he was extremely friendly! I came here on 6-10-19 with a check to pay off a loan and the team that helped me was more than awesome. The guy at the information desk was super nice and helped with a few changes that were needing to be made. Everyone was friendly and kept asking if I had been helped. It's really nice to have people act professionally and take care of their clients fast. I was in and out of there in left than 30 min for everything.

Called in because of fraud on my card. The lady said must have been something that you did. Very rude she was like bored with me. Get it together Mocse or just close your doors. Very sad it use to free like a community bank now absolutely no customer service. I really hope they see this and put their people through customer service training.

Tellers are friendly but everyone else that has a higher position have snotty attitudes and can care less for your business. They make everything so difficult and give you the "you can go else where attitude". Closed my account and will let everyone know not to open an account there. They have done a few nice things in the past when Ive called the customer support number, which I'm very thankful and as a loyal customer it's something every bank does for you with no hesitation.

I used to always get really good customer service at this bank. Today a young woman by the name of Johana Medina (not sure how her name was spelled) made me feel like a criminal that is trying to do some fraud with a small check I was depositing. The tone of her voice seemed to me as if it wasn't her day and probably tired of her job. Her level of respect is untolerable and unprofessional. I would highly recommend she gets some type of training on customer service.

I am very not happy with the loan process i just experienced with mouse credit union and their loan staff, we were quoted one % rate on the phone than another rate in person, than one week into the process the % rate went up again. At that point we stop the loan process, to us this was the typical b.s. also known as bait and switch.I definitely would not recommend them to a friend. I took my business elsewhere.

I recently transferred my direct deposit to this bank from a different credit union. I have had the same job and same payroll specialist for years. MOCSE picks when I get paid. It may be the day before, day of, or day after. The credit union that I am a member of in Tracy always deposited my check the day before payday. That is the advantage of direct deposit. Not with MOCSE. They choose. So now I have to find another bank in Modesto. I do not like the inconsistency. Customer service does not care. They told me they are the only bank obeying the law apparently. Geez

Bunch of crooks. Tacked on an insurance policy to both of my loans. There was a miscommunication with my insurance company and Mocse will not even work with me to fix the problem. They added a 172.00 insurance fee for a 3 day gap in coverage. Also a 1200.00 insurance cost for my boat loan. Mocse said they don't make any money on this. Which is a LIE! the amount they tack on goes to the loan and they are making interest on it. Not to mention an overpriced insurance cost. I will be refinancing my loans thru another place and closing my accounts with them. My advice to everyone is

I have been a member since the early 80's , I have ALWAYS been treated with respect! Big banks have tried to lure me away but they were always so good and fair to me so I chose to be loyal to them! If my math is right I have been there at least 35 yrs.Go into the Coffee Rd Branch sometime and you will see what I mean, they treat you like family! Thanks MOCSE!

I've banked with MOCSE for almost 20 years. In that time, I have held savings accounts, money market accounts, about 5 auto loans, and most recently, a HELOC. I have always been treated respectfully. Over the years, I have seen some of the employees come and go, but have developed professional relationships with several of them. I need to be able to trust and rely on my banker and MOCSE has always exceeded by expectations. A previous reviewer cited hours of operation as being an issue. Sure, they aren't open on weekends, but I know that, and prepare for that ahead of time. Keep doing

If you live local, don't want to deal with the BS that places like B of A and Wells Fargo give you, then join MOCSE. I have never had a bad experience or rude attitude from any worker here. I can't say the same for other banks I have dealt with. My only complaint, when I am out of town accessing my money isn't possible if I need larger sums of cash. For those times I do utilize B of A.
If you join here you will get spoiled and despise banks. MOCSE is a first rate financial institution.
