The members of the WRHS Bands have made a tradition of their commitment to excellence. The past years of commitment, established by alumni and current performers, challenge each of its members to take pride in past accomplishments and make a personal commitment to the band's future success. To meet this responsibility of maintaining our quality reputation, we must continually reaffirm our artistic, educational, and recreational goals.

Our Artistic Goals are to achieve maximum musical impact upon our audiences and ourselves through the performance of the finest literature available in each band medium with musical integrity and the highest musical standards. Our Educational Goals are to increase student musicianship through technical development, and to help develop outstanding leaders with a sense of loyalty, pride, and commitment to the band, the school, and themselves.
Services
We are looking forward to a most successful and exciting marching season. A "COMMITMENT" on the part of each and every member in order to reach our goal of "excellence" is required. In order to make such a commitment, the following information highlights the participation and financial requirements for the upcoming season.
The audition process for the 2013-2014 WRHS drumline, aka RDC (Robins Drum Corps), will be a gradual process over three Saturday camps. At these camps each student will be given the opportunity to audition for any position within the unit, i.e. Snare, Tenors, etc. No one is guaranteed a spot and everyone, including returning members, must audition to be considered for next year's group.
The Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational embraces the ideals of the highest standards of performance and creativity in music and visual design in the marching band activity. It is an opportunity for band members to perform for an appreciative crowd and to be appropriately rewarded for their excellence, hard work and dedication to this activity.
I never had any illusions that my kids were going to be "cool" or "popular;" I've met their parents, and. If you're hesitating-or if your teenager is hesitating-don't. Trust me, marching band is not just the dorky kids in terrible uniforms. I mean, yes, it is dorky kids in terrible uniforms, but it is also so much more than that, and it's wonderful.
