Brett and his team were great. And was a great value. I highly recommend using them. Also I saw a review below about boxes. When I asked Brett about getting boxes vs. getting them at Home Depot, he was VERY clear that Home Depot would be less expensive, but that was just for boxes (whereas First Rate would offer tape and packing materials which is why his pricing is the way it is). Do not base your decision on that review.

I would not reccomend this company to anyone. Pick up on last day possible, deliver almost the last day. Have had to use 2 different forms of payment. One for deposit, another on pickup and now they want cash or postal money order on delivery! Even tho both payments I have made already went thru fine. This company is a joke. Don't use them! Finally brought her stuff....90 boxes, shoebox size boxes. Charged me 4300 dollars for that! Ridiculous! Never again

Terrific Movers! I have moved many times over the years, both short and long distances and these guys are terrific. I hired them to move heavy things within my house which the company that moved me in could not do. They took two very heavy bookcases up the stairs, with a landing and turn on the first try. They also moved numerous other things upstairs as well and helped me get the garage better organized. They are definitely the first choice for a local move in Delaware! I would call them again. My daughter had a 10x10 storage facility in Lewes filled with furniture my husband and I no longer needed after we downsized and moved to Sussex County from out-of-state. Now that she has moved to a larger house, we needed help to move all these items to Wilmington. We were more than pleased with First-Rate Movers. The men were on time, everything was packed and secured with care and then delivered promptly to Wilmington. I highly recommend First-Rate Movers.

I used their First Rate Junk and Hauling arm of the business to clean out a lot of items for our move. May sound like a cliche, but First Rate was definitely First Rate! We had a huge piece of furniture that needed to be disassembled and removed. No small feat, but they tackled it in record time. Brett and his crew were amazing - responsive from the first inquiry, efficient, on time, extremely courteous and careful to take care of our home as they carried things out. Great job - thank you!

I highly recommend First-Rate Movers. I had a couple pieces of furniture to move to a local charity. I contacted Brett two days ago when another local mover backed out at the last minute. Brett responded to me very quickly, gave me a price and scheduled pick up within twenty-four hours. The crew showed up on time, worked very professionally taking good care of the furniture and completed the job within an hour. Thank you so much for the quick response and very fair price!

We used Brett and his company twice within 2 months. We moved from our old home to storage and then 2 months later from storage to our new home.
We are extremely pleased with First-Rate movers. They were very efficient and professional. Brett quoted me rates within range depending on time and number of movers. The actual bill was on the low end of range because we had our items organized and ready and his crew of 5 guys worked very hard. I would highly recommend this company. Moving is a pain in the neck! If you want your move to go smooth and easy, fast and efficient, but still done with care, then First-Rate Movers is a must!
I was concerned about a big, bulky couch (8 x 2 1/2 x 3¼ ft) that had to be moved into a place with a staircase WAY TO SMALL, WAY TOO TIGHT (3 ft wide) AND WITH TOO MANY CORNERS - these guys didn't complain. No ifs or buts, no damages or scratches, they just did it.
When it comes to great service, professionalism, friendliness and courtesy, these are the right guys for you!

Short review: Great, professional, reasonably priced movers. I would recommend these movers to anyone.
Longer version: I posted a request for a quote through yelp, and immediately followed up with a phone call. I wanted a move on Saturday and called on Thursday!! Brett immediately called me back and was very accommodating and professional. He gave me an instant quote, and set up a time for the move (2 days later).
On Saturday, we woke to a dusting of snow. Brian and Cam showed up ON TIME. They surveyed what we had to move (of course, we had more than I originally thought), and got to work.
