Trinity Hotel Restaurant
The Trinity building was built in 1892 as the First National Bank, where it once housed the first newspaper and later became the historic headquarters of the Carlsbad Irrigation District. In 2007, three partners bought the building with the dream of restoring the decaying property.

Many in the community said it couldn't be done, but today the old bank building is fully renovated and now the home to Carlsbad's finest dining establishment and nine luxurious hotel suites. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday. Breakfast and lunch feature classic dishes and our amazing green chile cheeseburger.

Had dinner with daughters and son-in-laws (party of 6). Location and building were very cool. The service in the restaurant was not the best and the food was very mediocre. I really thought a $30 ribeye should be more than 1/4 thick. The halibut was a little over cooked, baked potatoes were undercooked and the vegetables were flavorless. My wife did enjoy the filet and the lobster. Worst of all was we placed our order at 5:20 pm and didn’t get served until 6:40 pm. I know they were busy but an hour an 20 minutes is a long time for a wait time. Probably won’t be returning.

The atmosphere is great place has a lot of history service was excellent but honestly I ordered a ribeye steak and it was pretty dang thin on the edges were just burnt. My wife ordered the lasagna and it consisted of the noodle ground beef then noodle no ricotta a little cheese and sauce on top you can't call that lasagna Kind of expected more it seems like a nice upscale restaurant the walking in.

Fine dining in a uniquely designed structure! The authentic foyer w/some memorabilia & decor. A petite bar, & great service. I had "build a bowl breakfast" & it was delicious, perfectly portioned, & priced right. It was my 1st breakfast here & I was pleasantly surprised & genuinely enjoyed it as a dear friend invited me to go for an after birthday date😇
Thank you Jen, I love you

Super rude owner Dale. He was at the front and I made reservations and was telling him we were there for it. He told me "you and everyone else". He didnt have to be rude. I have to tell them there for the reservation regardless. Food is okay. Waitresses are always super nice and great. Really dislike the owner and I don't think we will eat there again and we go quite often.

This is probably the best dining option in Carlsbad but our experience wasn't great. Despite mask mandates during Covid the young gentleman at the desk wasn't masked when we checked in and even spent too much time in our hotel room unmasked. We were visibly uncomfortable but he was oblivious. Coming from Santa Fe where people, especially BUSINESSES, are compliant this was pretty shocking. The next evening the gentleman at the desk, who was the owner, according to our bartender, told us there was only wine when in fact they do have beer. I also have a photo of him at the desk sans mask

There are a lot of good things to say about this hotel. They have really good water pressure and hot water. Bar and restaurant. Have their own vineyard and wine. Even a wine cooler in the room. But don't expect some of the conveniences found in a newer hotel. This building dates back to the 1890's and was once a bank (the vault is in one of the rooms)( they still use real keys). So, no microwave, fridge, coffee maker, fitness room. We couldn't adjust the thermostat because it controlled several rooms.
For us, the biggest inconvenience was no coffee. There is a Wendy's down the street that has

Nice atmosphere. We ate breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast was very good with large portions and reasonable prices. Dinner was also good but the chicken with capers was tough. Tasty but tough. Other than that a great place! Very nice staff!!!

My wife and I had a lovely stay in room 206. Our dinner and breakfast were amazing and the staff was incredibly accommodating. If you find yourself in Carlsbad, you will be missing out if you don’t stay here.

Out of the places we ate while in Carlsbad, this was by far the absolute best! Not only was the good spot on, but was the 1st and only restaurant that also had impeccable service! Made us feel as if we belonged! In fact, went back the next morning for breakfast! Get a cinnamon roll if you are there for breakfast...yummy!

Back in NM for a quick trip. HAD to come by the Trinity. Of all the things I don't miss or care about in this state, I really miss this place. Use to come here at least once a week. The Lawman burger is the definition of a great burger. And the coffee drinks are awesome

We had a good meal overall. The bruschetta was soggy... However, my pasta dish was very good - a spicy marinara with large shrimp that were cooked perfectly. I recommend the home made tiramisu for dessert. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant is clean.

My wife and I were visiting the Caverns and picked the Trinity. The location is ideal--right downtown and in walking distance of pubs, restaurants, and the lake. The room was big and unique. The hospitality of the staff at the hotel and the restaurant was exceptional.

4.5 stars for food; 4.5 stars for waitstaff; -10 stars for the owner. we had a reso for 5pm on a Wednesday for dinner. place was nearly empty. pleasant host seated us upstairs-wood-low ceiling--I wondered why we were going upstairs where I knew it could get loud-especially when downstairs was nearly empty; but i went with the flow. Waitress was very attentive--boy does she get her steps in!! She forgot to tell us the special but no big deal. 3 other people arrived about the same time as we did-upstairs--incredibly loud--to the point I had to cover my ears. Luckily we got our order in before

Loved our dinner here at Trinity! The service was fantastic and the food was great!

I had the white Zinfandel to drink and it was the ideal Monday night in May kind of wine. For dinner I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken which was fantastic! The chicken was cut and grilled into bite size pieces which was nice because I didn't have to mess around with cutting chicken on top of a salad! My boyfriend got the chicken piccata and he loved his choice! The rolls were also garlicky warm perfection!

We had a chocolate cake for dessert and it was the cherry on top of a nice meal! 10

The restaurant is part of the hotel. The owner was there working as well. We booked a room for a Friday night on our way to the restaurant, since it was convenient to just eat and sleep in one building. The history of the hotel and restaurant is kinda cool. It used to be a bank and I think there are fewer than 10 rooms. It was $150/night and if you paid in cash, you can get 10% off. We arrived at exactly 9PM when the restaurant closed. None of the waitresses would look at us as we stood there. Finally, one came over and said she'll need to ask the owner if we can be seated. I also called half

We had a great evening here. They are always busy but we were able to get reservations at 6 PM. Unfortunately when we got there they were running a little bit late and the owner said it was probably about 15 minutes so he sat us at the bar to get a drink which was great. He came to get us after our beers I took it to a great table on the second floor.

We thought everyone we dealt with was very friendly and very attentive to our needs. We started with the goat cheese appetizer which our waitress suggested. It was excellent. Next we had a ribeye and the halibut. The waitress had also recommended

This review is only for restaurant as I did not stay in the hotel. I definitely did not feel safe in terms of covid safety. They have absolutely disregarded any restrictions of distancing. We had tables that I could touch without stretching while sitting on my table. It was very busy the night we went.
Now on to our waitress. She was a lovely lady but she was sick. She knew she was sick and she still chose to come to work. She was wiping her nose constantly and had her mask (chin diaper) down most of the time. My friend even noticed her taking the napkin and wiping her nose and then using the

This place is worth the 8 Hour Dr. from San Antonio. Even if it's not along your way, you should make a point to stop in at The Trinity if you are anywhere close to this place. Aside from the beautifully restored historic building and history, the food and ambience is top-notch. We always make a point to either stay the night in the hotel, or have a delicious meal in the restaurant.

Rooms 206 has a very unique vault in which you can sit and watch TV on the couch or pull out the couch for extra sleeping space. Either way, it's super cool. This room also has a huge jacuzzi tub in

Tl;dr despite being named the best restaurant in Carlsbad, this Italian bistro offers a complimentary (and surprisingly good-quality) wine tasting, but the eats leave plenty to be desired

Standing alone on the main street of Carlsbad, Trinity Hotel is a blast from the past -- the hotel and restaurant are built into this repurposed bank. In fact, some of the rooms (including the cigar room) feature a den made from former vaults, complete with the original metal safe door. The Italian-inspired restaurant is located on the first floor, just past the hotel lobby.

A small wooden bar sits front and

I saw this on YELP and thought we would check out the old building, quaint hotel and eat at the restaurant. As we were walking in the main lobby I observed a Red YELP sticker on the window. I was happy to see it and was excited to go in. The old building and hotel were cool to look at. We went in to the adjoining restaurant and was seated for lunch after going to a great church service at the Oasis Church. We shared a dinner salad and both of us ordered the Rancher. It was a 6oz. Ribeye with onion rings. The food was good but the server told us after receiving our salad that they are closing and

The setting is ok, with lots of historical references in the menu to gangsters and lawmen, seeing is it was a bank at one time back in the day.

The food was good, although not overwhelmingly so. I had the Trinidad? It was decent but the hash brown portion was small. The green chili topping was good as were the poached eggs. The price was reasonable at $7 and with the addition of sausage was $2 more.

They were a bit busy but our wait time was only five minutes. But, service after that was spotty. Refills on water and coffee were few and far between.

I'd try them again and hope next time
