We are conveniently located next to the Sentara Albemarle Hospital with access to many local healthcare providers. You will find days with fewer worries, more options, and a community that feels just like home.

Find a sense of belonging in our community of friends by learning more here. Sometimes it is hard to know what questions to even begin asking when it comes to the care of your loved ones. We are here to help you understand what we can provide and recommend starting here.
Services
At Waterbrooke, we strive to create an atmosphere of comfort and security while providing the best possible care for each individual. We promote independence and encouragement to live each day to the fullest. We choose to view ourselves as a community. We do not view ourselves as a "facility" but as a home to our residents.
Many adult children experience a moment when they realize for the first time that their parent seems to be getting old. This realization can open the door to a plethora of emotions including fear, sadness, nostalgia, concern, anxiety and even anger. The good news is that families enter this journey together.
Simply put, assisted living communities give older adults personalized care in a residential setting. They're for seniors whose health or well-being requires a higher level of support, which is determined through a health assessment by the community according to state regulations. Assisted living also provides a healthy lifestyle and social engagement.
At Waterbrooke, we offer much more than a place to stay. We offer a place to live well. Our residents share some common values: to be recognized as individuals, to lead lives with a sense of purpose, and to maintain connections with people and interests that are meaningful to them. Our Assisted Living program is designed to provide the perfect balance of support and independence.
Our memory care program features a person-centered approach that's designed to help your loved one feel a sense of belonging and purpose, while still preserving their identity and individuality. Featuring a safe and secure environment, seniors are able to participate in our daily path of engagement, which encourages their current skills through research-based activities.

I volunteer each Christmas at this location at their senior Christmas party! The community and staff works so hard to bring together such a great time for the residents during the most hardest time of the year for many of the residents! So many of us have family that we see and can spend time with during this time while some of them don’t. This is all they have and the staff at Waterbrooke make it happen in a big way!

My father was in the memory care portion of this facility in 2017. He was a very active patient with lewy body dementia and our experience was not good.

This is an excellently run facility with staff who truly care about the residences. They set up a very safe and secure way of having front porch visits with your loved one in a truly safe environment that was well monitored.

My mother has been here for 2 years, and is very content, and the med techs seem to be very friendly with her. She would tell me, otherwise. 😉

As visiting a former tenant, walked in his room and the light would not come on, sent my husband to the desk and they said it would hav ed to wait till tomorrow. Talking with him and roommate, they both had already told them about the light numerous times.

I have been volunteering for several years at Waterbrooke and love going there every chance I get. It simply feels like home as you enter there. From the warm friendly staff to the smiling residents. It is a pure joy to assist where ever it maybe. My favorite activity is Coffee Club, where I bring homemade goodies in to share with the residents over a cup of coffee or cocoa. During this time we tell riddles/ jokes to get residents involved. Love my time with my Waterbrooke Family ❤
