At the Central Florida office of Dr. Lou Harold, we are here to help you with obesity in every way possible. Severe obesity is a chronic condition that is very difficult to treat. Surgery to promote weight loss by restricting food intake or interrupting digestive processes is an option for severely obese people.

If you are at least 100 pounds overweight and have tried many times to lose weight, without lasting success, then Obesity Surgery, gastric bypass or gastric banding, may be an option. Gastric bypass surgery reduces the stomach size and has provided the best long term results for those who cannot lose weight in other ways.
Services
The latest statistics from the National Health Institute shows that more than 50 percent of the adult population in the United States is overweight. Current statistics reveal that nearly 25 percent of the population is obese. A body mass index (BMI) above 40 means about 100 pounds overweight for men and 80 pounds overweight for women, which indicates that a person is severely obese and therefore a candidate for surgery.

This staff is so unprofessional and rude. I was calling for some information on the surgery and they were not helpful at all and just went out of their way to be rude.

I scheduled an appointment for a gastric bypass revision. I was very excited waiting for that day. After charging me for my copay, the doctor told me that he doesn't do revisions because he doesn't believe in them. He said that if you want to lose weight after a surgery you need to eat healthy which is true. However, why schedule an appointment for a revision when that's something he doesn't do. It was a waste of time and money.

I can't thank Dr. Harold and his staff enough for all that they have done. I had an enlarged hernia with a severe case of diastasis recti and Dr. Harold did an amazing job. The entire office worked hard to make sure I was taken care of and they were always so caring. I now have my confidence back and for that I am truly grateful!

He takes Amerigroup, that's good...Gives you the phentermine right away, that's good too...But Isn't very encouraging and doesn't give you a diagnoses and treatment plan and talk about your health and issues like a Doctor should...It was mostly getting scolded at and then dismissed without any plan or help at all. 🤷🏻 Searching for another Bariatric who takes my insurance.

Dr. Harold saved my life in 2008 by performing an emergency appendectomy to remove the perforated organ. Days prior, I thought I was suffering from a stomach bug until the 3rd day where I became frozen with pain. I was taken to the ER where Dr. Harold diagnosed me immediately and let me know what procedure he would perform and what I could expect over the course of the next week. His approach gave me confidence which helped me endure as I recovered. I am very grateful for Dr. Harold's professional abilities and the treatment I received.

I am a healthy person who has had only one specific on going medical issue in the last 4 years. I recently had to go to the emergency room for a new issue (yesterday). Following the ER visit Dr. Phillips Hospital referred me to this individual who I do not have enough respect for to call a doctor. My appointment was at 1:45. He graced me with his presence at about 3:10pm. He was very unpleasant and I knew I was dealing with a terrible doctor when he could not comprehend the ultra sound report from the hospital. Furthermore, he had no desire to know anything about important medical history. He seemed

2009. Dr.Harold a great doctor. Very straight forward and very caution with each patient. Before any kind of surgery he explains and educate you about the procedure that you are having done. On every fourth Saturday of the month, there is a S.O.S class. Dr. Harold is doing his part, and it is up to each individual if they want there procedure to be a success. It is also up to each individual to follow The doctors orders, to avoid some compercation. The staff is very professional. They let you know up front about the billing and what your insurance will cover and not cover. The staff has no control
