I chose the name while on the phone with ValPak because I had old valentines hearts cut out of red construction paper all over the walls in my honey's office in our house, and when the ValPak person asked our name, I almost said, "Douglas Mitchel, Chimney Sweep.," but what came out of my lips was, "Heart's.

Heart's Chimney is a local family-owned business where we give you the best service at the best prices. The chimney sweep business can be messy, so we have a no mess guarantee. We use clean sheets, take our shoes off, use a 175 mph vacuum, and employ conscientious staff who leave our work area as clean as when we got there (if not cleaner!).
Our chimney sweep service includes everything you expect to be included and no hidden fees. We check the system from top to bottom, we clean it from top or bottom depending on the system, we seal up the opening to prevent any soot from entering your house.
We check the spark arrestors, caps, dampers, smoke chambers, fireboxes, brick and mortar chimneys, wood chase structures, flue tiles and pipes, stoves, inserts, pellet or gas or wood burning alike.We inspect, service, clean, repair, install and remove them all.

Our prices for chimney sweeping are the same no matter what sort of chimney flue you have. One chimney flue is $119. NFPA 211 says every wood burning system must be inspected once a year and cleaned "when necessary." This is why our Free Soot Inspection is so great. If you don't need a sweep, the trip is free!
You guys were worth the 6 day wait. My chimney hasn't worked like this in years. I've had company after company sweep my chimney, but it wasn't until Douglas that I stopped getting smoke in the house. They came to my house, checked my chimney top to bottom, told me it didn't need to be cleaned and they didn't charge me.

Great communication and easy to deal with. Came out quickly even during busy season. Inspected my chimney and let me know that it looked perfectly fine with no need for work. This felt great to hear especially with me knowing nothing about chimneys. Honest and not just trying to take your money. Will recommend and always use in the future.

Knowledgeable, courteous and prompt, Douglas gave me expert advice and did a check and did not charge for the inspection since a sweep was not necessary. Even got up on the roof to remove creosote from top of chimney grating. I'd recommend this business to anyone, as a matter of fact, 30 minutes after he left I did!

Doug Heart and his staff are excellent, and they are my "go-to" Chimney (and duct) experts for my buyers and sellers. They are honest and very knowledgeable about all things related to chimney and ducting, and their estimates are both comprehensive and reasonably priced.
I feel very comfortable recommending Heart's for buyer inspections in real estate transactions because they are honest and offer the buyer a true picture of the state of the chimney/fireplace without alienating the seller with an outlandish and over-reaching inspection report/assessment.

Like other reviewers, my experience was that Hearts has very poor communication. I spoke to Douglas initially who seemed very knowledgeable and booked an appointment. He then canceled the morning of the appointment. I had a very hard time getting ahold of him to rebook. I finally got a brief text with a reschedule date but had a couple follow-up questions and could never get ahold of someone to answer them. Due to the challenges, I decided to go with someone else (which was a simple and straightforward transaction) -- and was never able to get ahold of anyone at Hearts to confirm my cancellation

I'm a realtor and I was in a very tight spot with a quick deadline and a last minute need for a chimney inspection. I had called 6 or 7 with no luck when a colleague suggested I give Heart's a try. Julie was there in 40 minutes and gave our clients a thorough and professional report on the condition, repairs needed, and estimated costs - after scrambling up on the roof as well as a box up look. I'd say they're plain outstanding.
