The Kirby Foundation Board of Directors guide and assist in the efforts to build community relationships that lead to the commitment of private gifts in support of patient care; community health resources and education; and medical campus improvements. Throughout our history, community philanthropists have partnered with us to advance and improve healthcare in Piatt County.
In 1850, John Kirby left his home in Limerick County, Ireland and headed for America. When he eventually settled in Monticello, Illinois, he could not have imagined that someday he would be revered as a great community leader. Today, more than 90 years after his passing, his legacy as a community philanthropist remains.
Kirby Medical Center is a beautiful, clean facility providing affordable healthcare to patients of all ages. We offer advanced diagnostic imaging, cosmetic surgery, mental health counselling, and more at our well-equipped center in Monticello. This is not your cookie cutter healthcare service- patients are given unique treatments that address their specific needs and help them prevent potential problems later on.
Kirby Medical Center is committed to being transparent about our charges. The chargemaster is not a helpful tool for patients to comparison shop between hospitals or to estimate what health care services are going to cost them out of their own pocket. Your own charges and out-of-pocket expenses will depend on the actual patient care services you receive, the terms of your insurance coverage, and/or your eligibility for financial assistance.

We are so thankful to have such a well-staffed and capable facility in our small town, close to home. My entire family uses Kirby regularly for a variety of care and we just love the friendly service and knowledgeable staff, not to mention the wide range of services from lab testing and ER to physical therapy. This facility is a real community asset!

Came in on a Saturday and got in pretty quick. The issue was the prescription was supposed to be called in. I waited at the pharmacy for 30 mins and it hadn't been called in. I tried to call the office but it goes to the answering service. So I had to drive back there and I got a paper script. Then I had to wait over 20 minutes for that. Ridiculous. I seriously think I was made to wait so long out of spite.

I was recently see in Kirby ER by Dr Scaggs for a respiratory illness. He was very thorough, right on target, explained everything that was going on, what the course of treatment was going to be and what to expect. Everything has progressed like he said. He was very professional and courteous as all the ER staff was.
Dianna, the nurse, was very kind and considerate. All staff (names I can't remember) I came in contact with that night were professional, I was treated quickly and efficiently.

This small hospital is a first class facility. It is well staffed and professionally run by a group of dedicated individuals. Kirby Hospital was recently awarded the distinction of being the seventh cleanest hospital in America.
I use the pulmonary rehabilitation program three times weekly. It has a dedicated and professional staff of therapists and clean useful exercise equipment. The hospital's dining facility is clean, well staffed. And, the food is delicious. I have used the emergency room twice. It is arguably a very efficient and professionally staffed part of Kirby Hospital.
