Over the years we have discovered the importance of collaborating with the various players involved in the construction process to ensure that we are all working with a common design goal, budget and timeline.
As a result, Lane Builders has developed a new Custom Home Program which focuses on the assembling of a team of professional involved in the construction process, consisting of a realtor, architect/designer, outside consultants and the owner.We have over 100 satisfied clients that can attest to the importance of collaborating with the various players early in the construction process.

It starts with your vision. Clients come to Lane with generic house plans, ideas and usually renderings of homes with features they would like to make part of their own house design. Managing partner Jeff Burton reviews that material with you, looking for patterns in style and taste to incorporate into your new home.
When the client is comfortable that Jeff has a picture of their home in his head, he takes those ideas to a Lane designer and the vision is transferred to the computer and then to paper. The resulting house plans then go back and forth between Jeff and the client until you have essentially designed your own home.
For the next three weeks, Jeff and company hold up in their offices and drill into the critical job of costing out new home construction. Every stud, shingle, window etc. is priced. With the aid of special software, even the construction adhesive used to glue the plywood to wood joists is factored in.
New home construction takes nine or ten months, not unlike another important act of creation. The region's mild winters allow year-round scheduling with weather only occasionally affecting the pace. The key to this phase is communication. Every home has a full-time Lane superintendent/partner on site whenever work is being done.
