Welcome to My Practice in Dallas Texas and Washington DC. In my personal and professional experience, I learned that while experiencing pain fear, and sadness are important and necessary aspects of life, suffering is not necessary and mostly self imposed. I am a collaborative and interactive psychologist.
Approaching the office you will enter a tranquil environment, away from the hassles of traffic. Patients often arrive early to walk around the pond and feed the ducks, to gather their thoughts and make decisions about their topic they like to focus on in the upcoming session. It is my practice to review these reflections and allow the patient to decide what they like to discuss and accomplish in a given session.
Group therapy is one of the only places that one can talk about anything at all, solve private and difficult problemswithout riskingconfidentiality and gossip. What you talk in group stays in group. Individuals experience being part of something, learn and role play difficult situations from home and work, and improve their ability to interact with otherseffectively.
Motherhood and Parenthood are the most natural aspect of creating a family. However, women both cherished and struggled with this role. Right now, in addition to the ongoing struggle related to motherhood & parenthood, parents can feel more trapped and isolated. Most women love and cherish motherhood, others dread it question their ability to be a good parent, or resent the unspoken societal rules that link woman's value to giving birth.
Through our lives, we model our behaviors after individuals who influence us through love or affection, or people who dominate us and we see them as powerful. The older we are, the better we can distinguish between desireable or undesirable role models. Research about brain plasticity provides a better understanding of the brain's ability to continue and adapt, modify and heal itself.
