Services
Iroquois Mental Health Center is here to care for all your mental health and substance use disorder needs. Incorporated in 1971, Iroquois Mental Health Center (IMHC) is a 501c3 non-profit community mental health center. Originating in Watseka, Illinois, we now serve those in Iroquois, Kankakee, Vermilion, and Will Counties.
Iroquois Mental Health Center (IMHC) is a community mental health center founded in Iroquois County, a large rural county in east central Illinois. IMHC first began providing outpatient mental health services as a branch of the Danville Mental Health Center in 1961. IMHC became an independent corporation in 1970 and was incorporated as a 501 c(3) nonprofit agency in 1971.
Executive Director Dr. Dennis P. Hopkins, Psy D, MBA, is well versed in the area of behavioral health, having over thirty (30) years experience in the field. Dr. Hopkins' credentials include a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and an Executive Master's Degree in Business Administration. The plan, entitled "The Vision" was later incorporated into IMHC's strategic plans covering the fiscal years from 2006 through 2011.
The Iroquois Foundation for Behavioral Health exists solely to support the mission of Iroquois Mental Health Center. The Iroquois Foundation for Behavioral Health is a separate, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2011 to generate philanthropic support for the Iroquois Mental Health Center.
IMHC works with institutions to provide student interns with hands-on experience in the real world of mental health and substance use disorder assessments and treatments as part of their professional education. In return, IMHC is provided with the opportunity to identify potential future staff. Interning at IMHC allowed me to gain hands on experience that has helped me succeed within my career.

Really liked my therapist until she up and left and it took me a month to find out she left. Waited almost a year to see the psychiatrist only to be told now not taking new patients. So people are supposed to just go without their medication and therapist.

All around terrible service. They request payment upfront, then will cancel your appointments without notice, and charge you if you miss an appointment. This place is here just to steal your money and waste your time.

My conditions are quite severe; as I say so myself. I have been in and out of psychiatrists and therapists since 1990 (age 3). Countless diagnoses, countless disappointments. I admit I can be a lot to handle, I push all buttons I can when I am having an episode.
However, this office and ALL of its staff (including the crisis line) is more than qualified and caring to help even the most severe cases.
Every time I’ve been in the office, spoken in person or on the phone, they show nothing but respect and empathy. Even in moments when a regular person would yell back, they stay calm. They even

I have been seeing both a therapist and a psychiatrist at Iroquois Mental Health Services since I moved here in 2011. I have been in therapy and on medication for decades and my transition was almost seamless. I am not disagreeing with the other reviewer, only saying that my own experience has been good.
