I was here in 08, 09, 10 I was ages 13, 14, 15. As far as foundations goes I never had a problem until the third time I was there. This one patient had begun target male patients and staff of color, and I happened to be the last one he attacked. It was Christmas and we're sitting in the day room and he just came out of no where and socked me in the nose. The situation was quickly handled but quite honestly he needed a more intensive care facility. At the time I had heard that some of the other local facilities were much worse than this.

They hire the worst, most negligent staff you could ever imagine and anyone who has ever spent some time in here knows how awful it is. Unfortunately far too many kids get dumped in places like this by parents that don't care. Every aspect of being in a place like this is unbearable. Horrific abuses have taken place and been covered up.

Our son spent ten days at this facility and we were told by the intake staff that three total sets of clothing would be sufficient. At the end of the 10 days, we found that Tyler had not once been allowed to shave, shower, and he had to wear the same clothing repeatedly as there wasn't a laundry service as promised.
Tyler attends the Lifeworks school as well and I know we complained about the school on many occasions, and I couldn't help but notice that the reviews are almost entirely hidden after this company tried to convince google that the school had closed when it didn't.
Obviously, this

We were rather appalled by the smell of BO that was apparent the second we walked in for a visit. I really highly doubt they are allowing the kids to shower or change their clothes regularly. We have been turned away from planned visits because of so called crises on the units. If any kid flips out, they cancel all visits for the remainder of the day, they don't care how far a person traveled to be there.

Had two stays here as a teenager 2011/2012. There was no effort whatsoever to keep violent patients away from softer, more anxious patients. Every day there was some sort of assault. Saw a personal therapist for 15 minutes every few days. Group therapy was pretty much a joke. They kept us alive but at bare minimum conditions. As an adult I have PTSD from the weeks I spent here as a teen.

Samantha was taken off her medication that was working for her and put on Paxil, which is known to cause severe problems esp. those with bipolar disorder. She came home in worse shape than when she left, crying constantly, curling up in a ball on the floor, things she never did before.
Once we took her off the Paxil she evened out but it was a rough 2 or 3 days for everyone. I will never trust a head shrinker again. I think what most kids need is discipline and someone to listen, not dangerous medication.

They are trying to prevent us from getting our story out! Two accounts improperly removed along with reviews just because of the sensitivity of the topic.
Our granddaughter was in this facility for several months this year in the residential facility and was assaulted by a male staff member, resulting in the need to undergo a dilation and evacuation. Our lives have been shattered ever since and we feel like we failed to protect her. We were told it was an all-girls facility and that this couldn't happen, and it happened to US.

We were given a great deal of difficulty when trying to arrange a visit. We are Australian dual citizens and travel for business frequently. We like to see our son whenever we are in town, which isn't often, and we have been repeatedly turned away with visiting hours cited as the reason.
Now looking into another facility for Jason.
