One of the best stores for everything that goes with that Haight/Ashbury vibe. Picked up a sweet, massive Stealie tapestry along with a tie jacket for a friend up in Seattle, lots of magnets, stickers, jewelry, walls full of THE best Grateful Dead shirts.... they have various other psychedelic themed items that you will spend a lot of time picking out, wanting, or falling in love with. The best part, this gem of a store has very reasonable prices. I was thinking I would be "sticker shocked" with very expensively priced items but everything there is priced right! Not going to find a lot

This is the sort of store you would expect for Grateful Dead merch, very sweet and kindly saleswoman, the store smells delicious, lots of selection and they have some Ts that fit women in here. Unfortunately this is a contrast to a few of the area Dead merch stores that can be overly commercial and even unpleasant to shop in. I always feel like I'm coming home when I walk in here, just a real nice vibe, a good place. The Grateful Dead house is down east on Masonic, if you're interested. Nothing special, you can't go inside, but if you're a fan search it on maps...

I went to go walk around Haight & Ashbury. I went into this store and bought a hacky sack for my boyfriend and a taurus zodiac necklace for myself.. THE PRICE CAME OUT TO $20.59 !!!! I don't remember him telling me a total price when I gave him my card so I could get these items (which is my fault) but i didn't realize how much he probably overpriced me until the next day.. but I live in San Jose so I'm not going to go back to SF to get my money back because I figured he would tell me "no refunds" anyways... I did not have a good experience. Kinda feel like I got robbed

Found some cool tie dye and a cool shirts but I stretched a shirt to see if it was stretchy because it was small and I love crop tops and it came off the hanger when I pulled on it so the lady of the store came over and acted like I was trying to steal a shirt. She stood over me, it was rude and honestly I was going to not buy anything because of how rude it was but there was a shirt with a print on it that was good enough for me to spend my money and brush past the absolutely ridiculously rude shop worker.

Land Of The Sun is a fantastic store! The people that work there are extremely helpful and friendly! The nice woman who helped us told us great places to eat and visit. She also offered to take a photo of us in the store! The selection of merchandise is outta this world! Their Haight Ashbury design is the best and their tie-dyes are beautiful. I bought a ring, a dress, two t-shirts and a patch. You must visit this store if you go to the Haight!!

This is the smallest of the major tie dye shirt stores on the street. That being said, I found a classic Grateful Dead V-dye that I didn't see at the other stores. Friendly staff and decent selection. Don't buy until you stop there.

This is a cool little shop to buy hippie gear and postcards! I stopped in to get a couple of postcards that one can probably only find in Haight-Ashbury! I was a hippy in a former life lol! What a great little gem in one of my all-time favorite neighborhoods!

Fun shop! Really enjoy shopping here for cute, fashionable, bohemian, hippie vibe clothing and accessories. The employees are warm and welcoming making easy to browse and shop. Don't be surprised if you leave here with several pieces...I did. Many items are reasonably priced.

I adore this shop! Hippie-ville USA. If nothing else, come and talk to the employees. They are so knowledgeable about the 60s. This is not a tourist trap, at least it doesn't feel like it ;)

They have any kind of tie-dye you could want. I love my Haight-Ashbury tie-dye shirt. The one I chose was locally dyed but also a 60s original design. So neat! They also have woodstock shirts, incense, Bob Marley, 420, sugar scull, California, and SF memorabilia.

All in all, it's a fun shop with neat things with friendly people to talk to. What more could you want on the Haight?

When I'm trying to manifest Love - I come to Land of the Sun.

I stop in here about once or twice a year before Festival season to stock up on a dream-catcher-adorned-pocket-friendly-roll-on Auric Blend container of perfume - called Love.

It's simple. It's comforting. It's transporting.

For $12.99 I roll on Love onto my wrist each morning in preparation for the magic of the unfolding day.

Trust.

Such an amazing store with an equally amazing staff!

I agree with other reviewers when they say you really don't feel like a tourist when you shop here. It's such a fun little place with an awesome selection of incense and shirts (that aren't like all of the other repeat garbage shirts you find in other shops) The guy working the day I was in was so funny! I think his name was Paul? I love him! He told us the most funniest description of a shirt he had, told us about his life in Hawaii and honestly, just made the whole experience that much more fun. There need to be more people

Back to the sixties here. If you're looking for retro stuff, this is the place. Focus is on 1960s and '70s with items for fans of Grateful Dead, Jim Morrison, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis, etc. Everything from Tee-shirts to sweats, jewelry, handbags and great pipes (for tobacco, of course) cards, posters and so much more, it can make your head spin. Friendly staff tops it all off.
