John A. Scheffel earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine, and completed a reconstructive foot and ankle residency at Forest Park Hospital in St Louis, MO. He earned his bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Boston. He is board certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

He is a member of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society. His clinical interests include reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, diabetic foot complications, and diagnosing and finding the most appropriate solutions for complex foot problems.
