We have two full time providers and all the necessary supporting staff to deliver the highest level of primary care to the residents of Tempe and the surrounding areas. Shah and Kayla are great! I found this practice years ago based on others reviews and those reviews were right, not made up at all! My previous doctor was amazing too!! Primacare has a wonderful team of physicians, Dr. Shah and Dr. Shelley. Even the front desk people and lab people have been great as well!! They have great bedside manners and actually listen to all of your concerns. As with anyone providing care or a service, you must always advocate for yourself. They have their own lab in-house therefore I no longer need to go to a 3rd party location for blood drawls etc.
Doctor visits are intelligent mutual conversations and with Dr. Shah (My Doctor) This is the first time I have been comfortable with the patient/Dr. dialog in terms of the doctor being honest and showing indications that he genuinely cares about his patients health.
Additionally Dr. Shah is affiliated with Chandler Regional Medical Center which is my "not for profit" trauma center, aka hospital of choice.

I would highly not recommend. I can honestly say that Dr. Shah, in the instance of my care, got the entire situation terribly wrong. Dr's are supposed to care about their patients and help them work towards a diagnosis and continuing care. Based on my experience, he was belittling, borderline cruel, and legitimately wrong in his assessment. Tread lightly and proceed at your own risk folks.

The office staff refused to offfer an appointment or even for a nurse to return a call when I called this morning! I have been a long time patient there who doesn't go in very often. I've had bad experiences with the office staff being inefficient or useless. Today, I called at 8:30 a.m. which is early enough to obtain an appointment. As soon as I mentioned Covid, I was told it was impossible to get me in and I should try CVS or Urgent care. I told her I already took a test and it came back negative! So maybe it something else. I was treated at Prima Care by Kayla Shelley. From the moment I walked into the office I felt comfortable and welcomed, thanks to Kristen at the front desk As I talked about my concerns, I felt that Kayla really was listening and caring. I started seeing Dr.Kayla Shelly after my OB/GYN retired. I couldn’t be happier. Dr.Shelly not only does OB, but is my primary care physician and nutritionist. She is amazing. There is no nonsense. She is thorough. My previous doctors had me come back time and time again, but Dr.Shelly gets blood work ordered, x-rays, referrals, etc on my one visit. To some degree it is our fault that we did not insist on getting pre-approvals from our insurance when Dr. Shelly referred my wife for an MRI, but I would also expect Dr. Shelly to be knowledgeable about what kind of tests she needs to run before MRI is approved. After 3 appeals with insurance, every doctor said that we should have had some kind of a test first. We ended up paying over $2,500 out of pocket.

At first I liked the practice. Kayla was really nice and easy to talk to you. However, after my last round of visits I have decided not to stay at the clinic as a patient. I had three appointments in less than a weeks time with no diagnosis. I also spent a lot of money on labs and medication that were not needed. Those were all to help diagnose. Still referred out and as soon as I saw the specialist I was diagnosed with only visual exam and given correct Rx to remedy the symptoms. Highly recommend going to primacare. I did some research before going here and the reviews are right, it's amazing. Everyone is so friendly and I truly feel the doctors cared and listened to my health concerns. Kayla is great and Kristie in the lab was wonderful! I made an appointment here after reading all of the positive reviews. However, when I arrived I noticed the chairs and carpet were heavily soiled and stained and everything looked so run down. Then a nurse called in a patient and she looked so messy and disheveled that I left without seeing the doctor. I think that an office and staff are a reflection of the doctor and his standards so I was afraid to proceed with the appointment.

Second, if I need lab work, I come in without an appointment, and another group of competent people are there to do the job.
Third, when I come for my appointment, I wait for at most five minutes. Then I get to see Kayla! She asks how I'm doing and she listens. She does an examination and we have a discussion. If she thinks there needs to be some sort of follow up or other testing she immediately puts in the orders

Today I had my yearly physical with Kayla Shelley, PA. I've been coming to this practice for over 2 years and I've been more and more impressed with each visit.
