The Founder, Charles French, who started French Builders in 1960, was a General Contractor and Architect, designing and building homes in Nebraska for over 20 years. In 1984, French Builders became Level 4 and has developed a reputation for excellence and high quality work. In 2012, Charles retired and turned the company over to his sons, Troy and Lane.

Finish carpentry utilizes any and all styles and profiles of trim work to give your home its finished look. Trim can either be wood or manmade materials. It is what expresses your individual taste and is what everyone first sees when entering you home. Finish carpentry is our speciality. We know and specialize in how to make you home beautiful.
There are an infinite number of wall trim detail designs utilizing many different types and profiles of finish trim. This can utilize many different profiles and styles of trim which can then be used singularly or in combination with others to achieve your desired look and function. Decorative wall trim is usually designed in a "picture frame" style for an accent or to highlight a particular item on a wall.
There aren't many carpenters that know all the "ins and outs" that are necessary to install a door properly. Most either do not have the knowledge or do not care to do it correctly. We have both the knowledge and pride in our workmanship to get the job done right the first time, we guarantee our work.
It used to be that when someone would mention "Barn Door", the image that was most likely conjured in our minds eye was that of an old, beat up, smelly door not fit to grace the inside of a home. Nowadays, thanks to an unknown visionary designer, that has all changed. Barn Doors have been reborn and are now recognized for their new standard of style and elegance.

We used level 4 customs to remodel our upstairs bathroom and they leveled our home to the tune of over 10k in water damage to our home not to mention the mold issue we now have to deal with in our home. Troy had 2 guys do the entire job not once checking on the work being done. We had a bathtub installed and the workers somehow installed the tub without cutting into any wall to hook up the drain. The first time we used the tub it leaked to our downstairs and we called Troy who told us it wasn't the tub. When he finally came out to look at the job it was determine his workers never hooked
