Six Hands Winery
For more than 100 years, the Marks family has been making wine in the heart of California's Sacramento Delta. Surrounded by cherry orchards, Six Hands is the quintessential small production family farm. Our hand-crafted wines are available at a variety of California wine shops and local restaurants but are most accessible on our website, via our wine club or at the winery.

As multi-generational stewards of the land, Six Hands remains committed to sustainable farming with the aim of protecting the ranch for years to come. Today, Six Hands Winery produces eleven grape varietals (Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Carigane and Zinfandel) and bottles them into 16 unique, small-batch cuvees.
Services
As a member of the Six Hands Wine Club, you will receive two award-winning Six Hands wines, three times per year-January, May and October. There is no cost to join, just the price of the bottles when delivered. Typical shipments average between $30 and $45 before shipping and tax. There is no cost to join, just the price of the bottles.
The new Fall wine releases will be ready for our "not so normal" Drive-Thru pick up party. Here's your change to get your hands on our newest releases for the holidays! We are proud to announce out 8th annual wine and chocolate event! Add some sweetness and sparkle to a late winter day and join us to celebrate one of the best wine and food pairings we can think of!
For more than 100 years, the Marks family has been making wine in the heart of California's Sacramento Delta. At the beginning of the 20th century, Joseph Machado farmed the land where the winery is located today. Fond of making wines to share with friends and family, he took time out from the busy harvest season and crushed grapes by hand, passing the traditions down through the generations.
Being the fourth generation of our family to farm this land makes us all the more conscious of our responsibility to it. To minimize our impact on the environment, we farm sustainably. This extra attention to detail not only makes for healthy grapes and soil, but it also makes for a healthy biodiversity in the vineyards, where we see countless rabbits, coyotes, owls, and hawks who also call this place home.
The Six Hands Estate has been farmed for four generations, starting with Joseph Machado in the early 1900s. The Syrah and Viognier vines were planted in 1994 in fine, sandy loam soil, are trellised in the single cordon training system, and are sustainably farmed. Our vineyards and cherry orchards surround our ancestral family home and the winery, and serve as the setting for all of our annual winery events.

Wines are great! The Champagne called CELEBRATION is fantastic. Went to their yearly picnic with great music, under the trees and breeze from the Delta. Their MERLOT is so, so, so good! Lovely family owned property. A must visit.,

This is our favorite winery, period, and we have been to many all over. The historic location, the geography, the delta and its islands and the charming little car ferries going from island to island, and of course the Marks family and their wonderful, delicious wines, all make for a magical escape to earlier times in California. We love their wine club, too.

Six Hands down, the Marks family is exceptionally welcoming bunch and they are truly talented at winemaking. FYI, the tasting room is only open 4 times a your so get on their mailing list and set aside a weekend for wine tasting a la Marks. If you leave with a bottle of 2013 Viognier or the 2010 Pinot Noir, trust that you will make your life parter happy!!

I ordered the Chenin Blanc, Zinfindel and Pinot Noir. The Chenin Blanc is a crisp and full bodied. Lots of fruit but just the right balance of sweet and dryness. A really wonderful drinkable wine to be enjoyed with food or just to sip on a hot summer day. This wine feels expensive but is priced to be an everyday beverage. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful a small winery can produce a limited quality wine at cost that can be enjoyed without breaking the bank. Easily a 9 out of 10. Next was the Zin. Compared this with a bottle twice the price. I don't want to focus just on the cost of these

Fun and family-run! $12.50 gets you a cheese plate with some carbs and fresh grown fruit. The wines run from $13-$28. 10% discount for cases. 15% discount for members. Fun place to picnic, they set up the BBQ and you bring your own things to grill. Very nice and calm. $10 gets one tasting privileges. Beautiful part of California that is seldom filled with tourists and truly worth a nice drive. We have been coming here close to ten years.

A bit difficult to find as they are not ordinarily open to the public except for two times a year. The coordinator for our monthly wine group was able to arrange for a private tasting and tour though and we had a fantastic time with one of the owners, Peter Marks. The wine was delicious along with the education about how they distinguish themselves from the others in the area. A wonderful visit.

I just got home from the Fall Open House. What an enjoyable experience. The tasting room just said "Welcome, we are glad you stopped by." The staff/family couldn't have been nicer. The wine is good and reasonably priced. All wines under $14.00 a bottle. We fell in love with the Petite Sirah and bought 3 bottles. They have small boxes of chocolates that are paired with different wines for $1.50. Great stocking stuffers. I also got an organic cotton Six Hands T shirt.
I'm on the mailing list and ready to go to the next event.
