Located 5 miles off Interstate 80 this 70 acre secluded campground is an oasis of green grass and trees surrounding a 4 acre lake. All campsites have views of the lake and adjacent timber. Campers pay an annual fee each season (May - October) for their campsite and fishing privileges. Fee includes winter storage. Currently we have a waiting list for the 2021 season. For information on how to become a member or to check it out with a pre-season visit please contact Harlan Koch (Kookie) at (563) 343-7464.
Services
Peaceful, secluded and very clean private campground seemingly miles from nowhere yet within easy driving distance from Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and the Quad Cities. Parents and children are welcome to use the merry-go-round, playground equipment and shady picnic tables. Plenty of room for games of softball, volleyball, tether-ball and horseshoes.
The idea for the lake hit Viola (Vi) Koch in 1952 as she and husband Marvin Koch ate a picnic lunch on their 280 acre farm five miles southeast of Tipton Iowa. The Koch's, who had saved money for a trip to Colorado that year, were gazing down on a swampy valley that always seemed to retain a lot of water.

We have made a ton of friends at this campground. Everyone is very friendly! Some of the things we love here:. The people, golf carts welcome with trails to ride on, side-by-sides also welcome, you can have a shed, the park ranger is always friendly, they put on quite a few fireworks shows throughout the year, ice can be purchased, laundry is available, Tracy the activity director is awesome and puts on different things on the weekends (bingo, golf cart rodeo, water days, parade and so on). Another awesome option is you can camp everyday in the summer if you choose with a little extra upcharge

We honeymooned last october there, and we loved it! We stayed in the cabin, rustic charm! The amazing thing was when Kookie mowed the lawn and spelled out LOVE! How sweet is that? and very thoughtful! We couldn't make it this year due to my son's wedding, but will be back next year for more great memories!!

The most serine, beautiful campground I've been to. Friendly and helpful people always willing to help neighbors. They always have fun holiday activities planned. The Koch family is friendly, active members of the community. I would suggest getting on the waiting list for a opening, you definitely will not regret it! Thanks to all the Koch residents for making us feel right at home!
