The Western Mining & Railroad Museum tells the story of people who worked in the underground mines between 1880 and 1950, after discovering vast coal deposits in Castle Gate. Coal mining camps sprang up in the surrounding mountains, and immigrants from over 27 different countries flocked to the area, infusing the cultures of their homelands with their new world.

We stayed in one of the cabinets here for 2 nights and it can easily accommodate me my wife and 3 kids. When we were here the weather was 20 degrees but the heater was perfect to keep us warm at 78 degrees
The cabin was fully equipped with everything one needs ig coffee, comfortable bed, microwave, stove, fully bath and so much more
My kids had never experienced snow and this was a perfect place for to come for a new days and unplug from the grind of life

Very nice RV park! Very clean bathrooms, high speed wifi coverage, nice clean sites and friendly front office. What more can you ask for.
The campground is set well back from route 6, so there is distance and the road outside is quiet. There is, however, some noise from the highway. it did not bother us much.
It is now on our list of places to return to. The owners are doing something right!

I don’t think we’ve ever stayed at a more pristine park! Such nice people working here too! We stayed in this adorable little cabin, grilled our vegan hot dogs, and stared at the stars in awe. The little town of helper is two steps away and highly recommended if you’re like us and absolutely love quirky little towns! Owner and management will go out of their way to get to know you and help with anything you might want or need. They took us sight seeing on the side by sides and showed us a night on the town! Incredible experience!

We stayed in the cabins and it was awesome! It was so homey and comfy cozy! It was cleaner than any hotel we've stayed in. (we usually stay in Hyatt's.) There is a separate room with a full/twin bunk bed. The bathroom was large, the shower pressure great and even the toiletries were fabulous! We left our home in such a hurry that I forgot to pack my own shampoo and conditioner which I was so disappointed about but was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of what was provided! We didn't use the kitchen at all but it looked great and looked like it had everything one would need to cook. The front

This place is wonderful. The basics (spacious sites, clean washrooms) are A+, but the extras - on the river, walking distance to a gem of a town, friendly and fun staff - put Castle Gate over the top. I had only planned on staying a night, but I was so enamored with Helper, UT and so comfortable in my travel trailer, I extended my reservation by two nights. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the town. The staff helped me park, gave me local recommendations, and were just all-around awesome. Highly recommend you throw anchor here for a few days as a base to explore the "Carbon Corridor". You won

We had a family gathering of six, one couple in an A class, another couple in a 26 ft trailer and the other couple in a tent. We were all able to stay together. We’ve always stayed in Moab for years but that place has gotten so over crowded it was time we try another place that could be as nice with technical bike rides, petroglyphs and a much quieter place. This RV park has it all!! Beautiful restrooms with showers, a camp store, a river walk, and plenty of space in each site, your not cramped in. A fire pit with picnic tables on each site by the River,we had full hookups.
Very clean quiet

This is a new park and is well thought out. It is very nice now and will be even better as the trees and plantings between sites grow. Sites are level and relatively spacious Individual bathrooms and showers are large, warm and immaculate. It sits on the bank of a small river that adds to charm and serenity. I will mention that there is a nearby railroad track but trains were few and short so a minimal distraction

Nice RV campground south of Helper Utah on US 6, off the main highway. Privately owned and managed I think.
Level pull through's. All gravel. Spaces appear to use a recycled crushed asphalt material that seems to hold up as well as fresh laid asphalt. ....water permeable but hard. 50 Amp service.
Adjacent to the UP RR station, Helper Utah. UP, GNSF and Amtrac trains pass by between Salt Lake City and ?? Denver?? Train noise was not a problem.
Camp is immaculate. Young trees planted but no real shade yet. Restrooms are large, each is a separate room with outside locking door. Green or red

We camped at Castle Gate RV Park and Campground in our motor home in June 2021. What a surprise in Helper Utah! This park is so beautiful and picturesque. The owners keep the park neat and clean with long level sites big enough for large rigs and toads. The staff showed us to our site and were Friendly and constantly cleaning. We didn't have to unhook and could enjoy the site with fire ring and a very nice picnic table facing the mountains and river just across the road. Quiet dark sky nights where we could enjoy the star filled sky. This park was big with many amenities including a big office

Unlevel sites and overpriced. Was charged an additional $8 when I requested an adjacent site. The Campground was only about 10 percent filled. Worst experience in over 60 years of camping. Find another place to support. 24 foot RV, $62. The entire Campground is either pea gravel or crushed asphalt. Most every site requires leveling. The town is called Helper but this spot was not helpful.

If your travels take you to or from Provo UT, take the Hwy 6 for a great option to the 15. There are some cute and historic towns along the 6, Price and Helper are charming.
We stayed at Castle Gate RV Park 435-472-2267 in Helper UT. We were so happy with this year old park. Trains were in frequent. Highway noise extremely minimal.

This is a great RV park that is still new and with time will only get better. I highly recommend it. The owners are really friendly and helpful and very visible in the park which is nice. THe sites are huge and clean. There is plenty of room. As the trees get bigger the park will only get better. The bathrooms and showers are super clean and large with your own room for maximum privacy. The cable and WIFI were the best have had on any trip motel or RV camping. We will stay here again.

Very much enjoyed this park. Everything is new, well kept and very clean. Staff was super friendly and easy check in process. Kids enjoyed the splash pad and playground. WiFi was much better than expected, and cable tv has a good channel list. Little close to train track but wasn't noticeable or irritating at all.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds I've stayed at! You can tell that this is a labor of love by the folks who own and operate it, and everyone who visits will know what I mean after one stay.
The campground is new and still not a lot of people know about it yet. It's laid out in such a way that there is space for every type of camper. There are over a hundred RV sites-many of them pull throughs and with full hook ups. When you arrive, a staff member escorts you to your site, so there's no getting lost. He stayed to make sure we had all we needed, and then left us alone to get

This is a brand new park in the city of Helper, Utah. They have large, free, family-sized showers/bathrooms. There are 6 cabins for rent, and they even have tent sites! Castle Gate RV Park also has a general store and a propane filling station. This quaint city is fast becoming an artist's showplace as there are several galleries in town showcasing stunning art. There is also a railroad and coal mining museum, and a motorcycle museum in Helper. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in and around Helper.
