Hamburg Podiatry Center
Berks Foot & Ankle strives to provide our patients with prompt, courteous, competent, and compassionate service while offering the best leading edge, foot and ankle care possible. Millions of people see podiatrists every year for help with their feet, ankles, and lower legs. Did you know the average person takes about 10,000 steps every day?

That is a lot of stress on your feet! And when you consider the array of surfaces and inclines that people walk on, you can see how foot pain can be a common ailment. Our specialty treats everything below the knee so if there is a skin condition like psoriasis that can also develop joint arthritis; and sometimes requiring bone surgery, we are equipped to manage the whole problem rather than a patient seeing 3 different physicians/surgeons.
Services
Are you looking for a foot doctor? Pain and loss of function in our feet and ankles can be a huge obstacle, and we understand that getting your body back to normal is of the utmost importance to you. That is why we offer the highest standard of care in podiatry. We seek to make your visit simple, stress-free, and effective!
There are a variety of reasons why you may need to see a foot doctor. The musculoskeletal system of the feet, ankles, and lower legs involve many different parts that have to work together in unison to create smooth and pain-free movement. If any of these parts are not functioning properly, the whole system can suffer!
If you have never been to a podiatrist before, you may be nervous about your upcoming visit. Don't be! Millions of people see podiatrists every year for help with their feet, ankles, and lower legs. Did you know the average person takes about 10,000 steps every day? That is a lot of stress on your feet!
Are you tired of all the paperwork you are required to fill out in the doctor's office? Is it difficult for you to write when trying to provide your information or just plain time consuming? Would you like an alternative? Utilizing this option will cut down on your wait time and stress in the office when the focus should be on your medical issues and the doctors recommendations.
The Achilles tendon is the largest tendon in the body, joining the lower portion of the calf to the heel bone. Although it is able to withstand forces of around 1,000 pounds, it is the most frequently ruptured tendon in the body. Typically, injury of the Achilles tendon is caused by athletic activities.

My doctor, which I don’t remember his name. Was very helpful, made sure all my questions were answered, and made for a very stress free visit. They even sent me a letter thanking me for my visit which I haven’t seen from any other offices. Highly recommended.

I am new patient of this office and I could not speak more highly of them! I was able to get an appointment very quickly and the reception staff was kind and friendly. I was seen by Dr. Thomas Shannon who was wonderful! He took the time to listen to my concerns without making me feel rushed to get out of the office. He also walked me through the process of coming to my diagnosis and very clearly laid out treatment options to find my best course of treatment. I highly recommend coming here for any podiatric care you may need!

I had my first visit with Dr Thomas Shannon, my mother and father Joan and Mario Cagnetti were patients of Dr. Shannon. Also my sister and brother-in-law Julie and Darryl Damiani. He came highly recommended and I found out why. He is a very nice gentleman and great doctor. So glad I came to him with my foot problem. Would send other family members and friends to Doctor Shannon! Thanks so much and keep up the great work. 😊

Dr. Joe Smith is the man! The staff is great too! I was concerned that getting a toe fusion would end my days of running. Well, I'm happy to say that 7 months post surgery, I can walk and run now with no pain! I went to another "institute" for surgery a year prior and had no relief. That was a waste of time and money. I should have had Dr. Joe do my surgery the first time. He nailed the diagnosis from day one. The recovery was very easy and the pain was minor after a day or two. Thank you Dr. Joe and staff!

The Clinical Staff are very nice to work with and the nurses are great. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Watson. His Patient to Doctor skills are wonderful. He explains exactly how he will fix in my case my foot ,in detail how it will be done . He did a wonderful job with my surgery and I recommend him and their office greatly.
