I've always loved wood and nerding out with carpentry. I moved to the island in 1998 hoping to be doing historic restoration work and before long I had built a couple of houses. When I was considering starting this business I called my very first boss back in Boston. He gave me the best advice: "Always surround yourself with the smartest people you can find."

And, "The difference between being a carpenter and being a contractor is team building." I took his advice to heart. It's why I feel so good about the team we've built over the years. We're a whole team of people who love wood and nerding out over what it takes to make a truly fine home. Before he learned carpentry Andy was a cook at a fishing camp in Alaska.
Services
You just know it when you see it. The quality is in the detail. There are trim details and there are cabinetry details, just little things that you see on a house that he's done that are like, wow, that's really clever, that really shows a lot of craftsmanship. His company's work is so special. There are a lot of hot shots out there, but Will is steady and rock solid.
When you're away from your island home you can rest assured that experienced professionals are looking in on it. If there's a storm we'll make a special trip. We'll get the house ready for your arrival and button it up at the end of the season. I love to see my clients, but not during the season. If I need to see them while they are in the house it means I might have overlooked a detail.
Spend any time at all with us and you'll hear the phrase "long term cost of ownership." True value is lasting value. Short term economy is too often false economy. And one of the easiest ways to reduce your long term cost of ownership is to improve the energy efficiency of your home. Studies conducted since the early 1970's have consistently concluded that energy-efficient homes earn a higher resale price than average homes.
