We all encounter barriers to success at some point in our lives. Young people who face these challenges during their critical formative years risk falling behind in school and may fall so far behind that they see no alternative to dropping out. Without a high school diploma or plan for the future, it is very difficult to be successful in the "real" world.
JMG partners with Maine's public middle and high schools, community colleges, and our university system to help students reach their fullest potential. JMG strengthens Maine's workforce and improves the economy by providing students with the guidance, skills and opportunities they need to succeed in their careers.
JMG relies on the leadership of its board members. Their knowledge, expertise, guidance and dedication to the future of Maine students, the workforce, and the state's economy are all contributing factors to our success.

100 percent of our board members contribute personally to JMG financially, and the board has proven its commitment in helping to advance JMG's diversity of funding resources through active stewardship of both the private and public sectors.
New Research Shows JMG Achieves Impressive Results for Students with Significant Barriers. During the past year, four new research evaluations have been performed to further analyze the impact of the JMG program. This research, conducted by independent evaluators, provides new insights into the JMG model.
JMG and the MELMAC Foundation have collaborated to partner with five high schools to provide support to students on a school-wide basis to identify their aspirations for life after high school, and then connect those aspirations to a post-secondary plan. The MELMAC/JMG partnership is offered at Brewer High School, Old Town High School, Waterville High School, Windham High School and Winslow High School.
