Co-founded by two advanced nurse practitioners with master's degrees in nursing and more than 20 years of experience in critical care and flight nursing, Blue Mussel Aesthetics in Juneau, Alaska, is the premier medical aesthetics practice in the area. Kathy Kartchner, co-owner of Blue Mussel Aesthetics, graduated from the University of Arizona in 1998 as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Masters Degree in Nursing. In 2001, she relocated to Juneau Alaska to work as a flight nurse. After 30 years of healthcare experience, Kathy combined her medical expertise with her passion for creativity and opened the doors of Blue Mussel Aesthetics.

I’m beyond impressed with Blue Mussel. The offices are lovely and immaculately clean. But the professionalism and expertise of the highly trained and educated practitioners was what sold me. The first visit was a consult and Kathy covered procedural options, pros and cons, recovery time and what changes to anticipate week to week, realistic results and expectations, costs, and probable number of treatments needed to get the results I desired. We anticipated the procedure I chose would take 2-3 applications. It did not! For me the results after one session were dramatic. I’m absolutely thrilled

I visit family and friends in Juneau every year. Blue Mussel is always on my must visit list. The staff are extremely educated and up to date on the newest procedures for your skin. I've had numerous procedures and was pleased with each. The microneedling PRP is probably my favorite. Botox and fillers are a must. I can't wait to visit again.

This business is a fantastic medical spa for our little town of Juneau! It is also so wonderful they travel and provide services for Sitka and other south east communities. It is so convenient to keep feeling healthy and refreshed without a huge trip ($$$) to Seattle or Anchorage.
