Vogt Top Co. has been building custom counter tops at the same location in Villa Park since 1946. Werner Vogt started the company upon his return from WWII. My dad worked for Werner and when Werner retired in 1984, my dad, John Lauritzen, bought the business. He ran it until he retired in 1990 and then I took over.
We manufacture laminate, butcher block, solid surface and Silestone tops. We sell to kitchen and bath dealers, general contractors, developers, remodelers and individual homeowners. Prices quoted on this site include installation. They do not include tear-out and plumbing work. This can be done for an extra charge.

Services
Silestone is a quartz-based product. Quartz is one of the hardest materials known and is highly resistant to scratches. This is another low-maintenance non-porous product, requiring no sealing as with natural stones. It offers an assortment of edge profiles. Silestone is the only product available with Microban, a bacteria-inhibiting agent incorporated into the material itself.
Solid surface is the next most expensive material we work in. It also offers a variety of edge profiles. Solid surface is also non-porous, being approved by various health organizations as a food-preparation surface because of its resistance to bacterial growth. One unique feature is the ability to integrate a sink into the counter, making for a seamless joint between the sink and counter.
Laminate is still the least expensive way to go when it comes to counter tops. Laminate also offers the widest selection of colors. A number of different edge profiles are available. It is a non-porous surface, meaning bacteria have no place to grow within the material versus more porous surfaces such as stone and tile (grout).
