Charles Borrini, started this business 39 years ago. Our large following of customers proves our dedication in our field. His motto was simple "Education". Our staff is on the technological edge, with the most advanced equipment available. In the 60's and 70's the auto machinist was thought of as just a person that bored blocks and did valve jobs, today that label has changed.
Thermal management, as it applies to an internal combustion engine, is the idea of controlling heat and friction in order to attain the maximum performance, fuel economy, and longevity through the use of ceramic coatings. This is done through the use of thermal barriers, thermal dispersants, and dry film lubricants.
Thermal Barriers are ceramic coatings that reduce the transference of heat. In the case of your exhaust system, this results in lower temperatures under your hood and in turn lower temperatures of your incoming air charge.
Coating the top of the piston or combustion chamber of the cylinder head reduces the amount of combustion head that propagates through either part, keeping them cooler for the next fuel/air charge, this also helps to reduce the risk of detonation. These are all explained in greater detail on their corresponding pages.

Thermal Dispersants are coatings that help to increase the transference of heat. The coating we apply is an oil shedding thermal dispersant with a good amount of corrosion resistance. When applied, the thickness is typically less than 0.001 and is gloss black (black transfers heat better than any color).
It should be noted that some coatings will fall into more than one category. You might have, as an example, a Corrosion Inhibitor that is also a Thermal Dispersant or Thermal Barrier. The following information will provide a general overview on coatings falling into these categories.
Dry film lubricants also known as solid film lubricants, provide a lubricating film that reduces friction, inhibits galling and seizing and in some instances can aid in dispersing heat. The appearance is generally a charcoal gray and takes on sheen upon burnishing. They are slippery and provide an extremely low coefficient of friction.

The best shop I have ever went to, I will only go to them and if I move I'll drive any distance for their quality and exceptional care. They want to make sure I do things right, and they go above and beyond to make your life easier when dealing with your parts!
I absolutely cannot recommend them enough!!!!

Had a 4 cylinder engine block cleaned, bored and decked in less than a week and it was reasonably priced. When I got it back it looked amazing and they even painted it. Had to go back later to have bushings pressed into the rods and that was also quick and they looked great. Went back one more time to have a Heli-coil installed in a hole I stripped and got it back next day for half the price of a DIY kit. Engine is rebuilt and running great thanks to JCM. Brian made everything quick and simple and did an amazing job on the parts.
