Their service staff literally saved our vacation! We used to rent bikes with them years ago, but this time we brought our own bikes up to ride the Carriage Roads in Acadia. The very morning we planned to ride, one of our bikes had a flat tire. We had no way to easily fix it ourselves on vacation, so we brought the bike in hoping something could be done. The service staff fixed it within minutes and even trued the back wheel because he noticed it was rubbing the brakes. We barely even lost 30 minutes of ride time on an already tight schedule. Thank you!!

Thanks for the tune-up! See you guys again on the way south.
P.S. ignore negative review below from "KB"...10 miles is not that far, and Bar Harbor is not an overly dangerous place to ride. Bicycles are everywhere in Bar Harbor and almost all drivers are cautious and respectful, much more so than most "normal" towns. "KB" also claims there was no way to get their bikes to Jordan Pond...she seems to be oblivious to the fact that there are free buses (with six bike racks on each bus) leaving Village Green to the Visitor Center and Jordan Pond every 15 minutes. Don't take it out on the bike shop

Fantastic rental experience. We reserved some bikes and a child seat the night before; pick up and drop off took all of 5 minutes or less in the morning. The lady at the desk was super helpful with recommendations on which trails to take, where to park, and marked our map with the updated carriage road closures. Highly recommend!

We rented full-day eBikes on Aug 20 to ride the carriage trails in Acadia. eBikes = BEST DECISION!! We are avid cyclists, but we were able to cover 30+ miles of (surprisingly very!) hilly trails on the eBikes and still have energy left to hike trails and walk through Bar Harbor in the evening. We passed many wiped out, defeated cyclists on regular bikes walking up the hills. It was totally worth the extra cost.
The kind woman at the desk mapped our our bike route for us and patiently answered all of our questions. John gave us a detailed lesson on the various settings - thanks John! We loved turbo

Scam artists at their finest. I booked 2 bikes the night before and showed up the next day to pick them up. I had paid online so we went to pick them up and we were told that we needed a bike rack for the back of the car, as putting them in the back of our huge SUV was not allowed. We were told we could bike to Acadia (Jordan pond was our destination) but that’s a ten mile bike ride just to get where we wanted to go (and over a mountain) and THEN we could bike the carriage roads. There was no other way to get the bikes there. We didn’t want to bike in the heavy traffic in bar harbor because

Great outfit we used after reading reviews of different options in the area. We read online to reserve in advance during busy season and we did. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Provided a map and some advice. We rented the bike trailer for the kids. We added a 2nd trailer and then didn't need it and they were great about refunding. Recommend using them!

We rented 2 bikes from Acadia bike rentals a few weekends ago. Everyone there was very nice and we had no issues with the bikes themselves. We had originally planned to rent a bike rack that attaches to the trunk (no hitch) which from their website it sounded like there would be no issue with. I drive a Hyundai Tuscon and any car like this with the small spoiler at the top of the trunk apparently is not compatible with this bike rack. So if you also have a mid size SUV, I suggest planning accordingly because it did throw a small wrench in our original plans. I do wish their website was a bit more

We had the best time on the Carriage Roads and it was all because of Acadia Bike! Our bike adventure was a rather last minute decision so we actually ended up walking in looking for a same-day rental rather than reserving beforehand. Since it was same-day on a holiday weekend Acadia Bike had bikes available, but didn’t have any bike racks left. Because of this we ended up simply riding the bikes from Acadia Bike to the entrance of the Carriage Roads (it’s a pretty quick ~5 min ride). In hindsight, I’m happy they didn’t have any bike racks left because that made us do the entire 20+ mile
