It started in China 2,000 to 3,000 years ago. In that ancient time, people knew little about the anantomy of the human body. They believed that people in pain had blocked qi, pronounced "chee, " which is energy that flows through channels, or meridians, to different parts of the body. They found that pain would lessen if you used stimulation such as a needle at a certain points on these meridians.
Whiplash injuries are commonly seen in victims of car accidents. Essentially what happens is that the impact causes a sudden movement to your head and neck, injuring your neck muscles. You mustn't take Whiplash injuries lightly and seek help from your Virginia Beach chiropractor at the earliest. I have never written a review before, and I apologize for the length, but I feel led to tell my story about THREE YEARS of constant chest pain and the care of Dr. Michael Whalen and Alpine Health Center...
The pain was in the left upper and left side of my chest. It presented suddenly, was very acute, and mimicked the signs of cardiac arrest. Needless to say, this was very alarming. One thing that was significant was the fact that I could palpate the pain – I could touch the area with my hand and the pain would present itself immediately.

Th staff at Alpine Health Center are professional, friendly and go above and beyond for their patients. Dr. Whalen listens to me and empathizes with me and my concerns about my health. He discovered an old injury that has lead to osteoarthritis and a degenerative disk in my neck and I do not know what I'd do without him. Hi treatment has changed my life! After trying both orthopedics and my primary care physician who all recommended pharmaceutical intervention for sciatica pain, decided to try a chiropractor for the first time. Dr Whalen and his practice were highly recommended by several friends. Absolutely fantastic and wish I had come to him sooner as the pain is very much under control within a fairly minimal time frame. Thanks to Dr Whalen and Phillip for awesome results and would highly recommend his practice to anyone who is considering a chiropractor.

I have never had to see a chiropractor and had no idea where to go or even who to go to. Several of my employees go see Dr Whalen at Alpine Health Center. I was in pain with a pulled muscle in my back and arthritis in my thumb/wrist. I found Dr Whalen’s card on the Refrigerator in the break room at work on a Friday afternoon and left a msg. Within 10-15 minutes Dr Whalen phoned me and asked what he could do for me. After almost 2 years and several VA doctors I'm finally getting relief from my chronic neck pain. It only took Dr. Whalen 10 minutes to diagnose and begin treatment. I have gone 3 days without pain meds and am finally able to sleep on my side again. I LOVE the staff and the office runs like a well oiled machine ! I COMPLETELY recommend this AMAZING practice.

Seeing Dr Michael E Whalen is the best decision ever! Alpine Chiropractic offers multiple modalities for healing - chiropractic adjustments (force and non-force), cold laser, active release massage and more. And if you've been considering cold laser - it's totally worth it! I am healing a nearly 10 year old hip injury and the cold laser therapy is working miracles. If anyone is looking for a great chiropractor in VB
Alpine Chiropractic is amazing. Did my first visit there yesterday, Miss Carole at the front desk is so sweet and helpful and the Dr. Whalen is So knowledgeable. I have been to a had full of other chiropractors since moving to VB and none of them have been exactly what I was looking for, until now. The Dr. took his time to listen to me, did his exam and adjusted me all while teaching me so much. He didn’t cause me pain during my adjustment like so many others and I am not sore today (next day) like usual. He also has very fair prices. So thankful

I live in Atlanta, GA. I was in a lot pain so a friend suggested Alpine Health Center. I called for a new patient appointment. They were booked. I explained my situation and they squeezed me in.
The staff was very welcoming the services were amazing (massage and adjustments)! I am now back in VA and the very first thing I had to do was massage and adjustment. They fit me in at the last minute again. The services were still amazing if not better (now they are aware of my issues)!! I am bringing my son tomorrow for a Christmas gift. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alpine Health Center to all that live in this
