Mental Health Resources
The need for mental health and substance abuse services in eastern New Mexico prompted action by the staff of Eastern New Mexico University in the early 1970s. Wanting an off-campus service, they created Eastern New Mexico Resource Center. When the New Mexico Mental Health Act was passed in 1975, the Resource Center was reorganized as a private non-profit agency resulting in the birth of Mental Health Resources, Inc.

No one will be denied access to services due to the inability to pay, and there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income. For more information, please speak to an MHR support staff at any of our locations. I have the honor and privilege to work with, and for, an outstanding group of individuals who practice self-sacrifice and who have a calling to serve others like nobody else.

Mental Health Resources, Inc. (MHR) is a non-profit, Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) that serves five counties on the Eastern side of the State of New Mexico. MHR is identified as both an Adult and Children Core Service Agency (CSA). A Core Service Agency is intended to identify and provide wrap-around services to target populations.
Individual counseling may include mental health issues, substance abuse/dependence issues, or individuals who have co-occurring disorders. Counseling is provided on an out-patient basis. Family counseling is offered for mental health issues, substance abuse/dependence issues, and co-occurring issues.
Mental Health Resources, Inc. offers psychiatric services in conjunction with the therapeutic process to individuals who may benefit from medication therapy. MHR does not currently offer "stand-alone" psychiatric services as our philosophy believes in the relationship between mental health, medications, and the therapeutic process to facilitate the best possible outcome.
Multi-systemic therapy provides an intensive home and community-based treatment for adolescents and teens who are at risk of out-of-home placement or are returning home from placement and their families. The MST model targets specific behaviors with behavioral interventions specific to each client and family.

They need to let their clients know if they reschedule their appointments. We live out of town and have kids which makes it very important that we know and can plan ahead. We drove over an hour to my husband's appointment just have them say they canceled it, they could have at least called us to let us know.

Thank goodness we have this resource in Clovis. I grant that they are overwhelmed and underfunded, but they have a compassionate, hardworking staff and some superb counselors. It is government funded and there is lots of paper work, but once you are established, it is much easier and you can get the continuing help you need. But they really aren't structured to handle emergency mental health crises on a walk in basis.

Extremely unprofessional. I walked in one day and was turned away, they told me to fill out the paperwork but that I wouldn't be able to be seen that day. It was about 11am and their sign says walk-in basis. I tried going back a few days later, I've never been able to talk to a counselor/psychiatrist in person, they're all over webcam and when they do set up appointments, I've never once received a reminder call. If your appointment is two weeks out, it's easy to confuse the exact date or time and if you miss two appointments they drop you from the system

I've been struggling with alot of issues my whole life, when i finally got the courage to get help it took everything i had to go in and i was hoping i would get to talk to somebody, they sat me down at a computer to talk to someone on webcam, i wish they would have told me in advance that's how they work, just talk to someone on webcam and not face to face human conversation, it would have saved me time and disappointment, no help at all, i left within the first 2 minutes, ridiculous place, they are not there to help anyone at all

They are good about helping me. They are kind and courteous. I don't regret letting them help me.
