In sign industry terminology, Vinyl letters are letters cut from an adhesive-backed vinyl. This vinyl can have a variety of properties and qualities. It can be opaque, translucent, glossy, flat, or reflective. Unfortunately, not all vinyls are created equally, and the properties of a given vinyl will directly impact how the vinyl performs.
Discuss the uses you will be putting your sign or letters to with your sign professional when trying to select the proper vinyl. Vinyl letters are generally cut with a computer-aided plotter (essentially a robotic arm with an exacto knife attached.) Vinyl letters can be cut to any size within reason, and can be any font.

Services
Tierney Signs was first started in 1978 by John J. Tierney. It was operated out of a small brick garage behind the house. As the business grew, so did the need for space, and a second larger garage was built next to the first. The business continued to grow, and eventually the shop was moved to grass lake rd. in Antioch, IL.
Since 1978, our goal is been to provide a superior quality product at a fair price, to exceed customer expectations and help companies establish their businesses. We are a company that is here to help other companies grow. We also give individuals the opportunity to express themselves. From digitally printed billboards to custom paint jobs on motorcycles we can handle it all.
The most common and basic form of signage. Vinyl is straight to the point solid color decals that are applied in layers. Vinyl is great for someone who is on a budget and needs a sign quick. Most commonly used on "For Sale" signs and vehicle lettering that may need to change (business phone numbers for example).
