I went to MBY Empire for my routine laser procedure and lock care. The laser service was performed in a private and well sanitized area and the proper procedures followed. I received quality customer service as always. I am very satisfied with my lock care from Merida and my laser service from Marcia. Both ladies are very professional and an expert in their field. Always willing to answer any questions or concerns and do their best to meet the need of their customer. I’ll continue to be a regular that’s for sure.

I went there yesterday for a wash, condition, trim, and silk press. My hair is natural and I'm very Leary of going to salons because I don't have time to spend all day in the salon. I arrived a little early for my appointment but I was seen right away. The salon is a warm and welcoming environment. The woman who washed and conditioned my hair was thorough and gentle . She did an excellent job and was very attentive. The owner pressed, trimmed and styled my hair.. she knows her stuff!! She Asked for my input before she started cutting ( I loved that). The end result was my hair looking

First time visiting this salon. I called on a Sunday to inquire about an appointment time and they accommodated me that same day. The salon had a good amount of customers in there so make sure you set aside a few extra hours. I do not remember the names of the 2 assistants ( I really wish I wrote it down). The older lady who had the stew peas soup with rice did a PHENOMENAL job washing and even massaging my scalp. WOW. Looking forward to seeing her again. Whatever she used to wash my hair left my scalp feeling cool and refreshed.

Absolutely disgusted with my experience here. If you have natural hair and are looking for a black owned hair salon that knows how to treat natural hair this is not the place for you. I went out of my way to avoid Dominicans because I thought this place would have a better awareness of how my hair needed to be treated but most of the other clients in there were getting perms. They do not know how to handle a black womans natural hair, even the simple basics as far as washing and not towel drying it. They used barely any product in my hair when I asked for a deep condition so it was basically frying

Very business like comfortable atmosphere. Best hair washing ever thorough and gets to every folical. My locks needed repair as they were thinning out but the skills of MBY have brought them back stronger than ever. Definitely best salon experience for dreads and other hair styles. There are hardly words to describe my experience at MBY salon. I really wanted a change in my life so I decided to get a tapered cut but I was skeptical about where to go. I found this salon on yelp and heard good reviews about it from people in the community. They did not disappoint! The service here was excellent from the moment I walked in. My hairstylist is the best! She gives you very nice hair styles but most importantly, she provides excellent hair care. If your experiencing hair loss, dry scalp or other hair issue, I highly recommend Marcia to make your hair hair look and feel healthy. I've been a client of hers for more than 3 years I'm very happy with the services she had provided. My 16 year old daughter has been going to her since she was 13 years old and she has very long beautiful thick hair.

Prior to me coming to this salon I had back length (when silk pressed) natural hair. I was tired of commuting to get my hair done and I saw this salon and it's marvelous reviews.
The first time I went, I got crochet braids. I was impressed by the fact that the owner jumped in my car and went with me to purchase the correct hair.
I decided to relax my hair, the service went downhill, after the relaxer my back length hair went to shoulder length

I was able to get a quick appointment for a silk press , permanent color and trim.
I was surprised by the $105 charge I received. I was given a quote by Jasmine of $70 the Day before. When I questioned her she said yesterday was a bad day . I requested a natural black color and received a light brown. I questioned Marcia she told me it was because of the hot tools she was using- when truly the color did not take.

I have been coming to Marcia for the past year. When I first started I was losing a lot of hair in the middle of my hair. She treated my hair and grew my hair back. Came here sort of last minute to get a silk press ($65)for my birthday, and they were so kind and squeezed me in on a Sunday. The salon is clean an brightly lit, and they have a closet for customers. Found this place on a whim. Needed a good wash and set and wanted to go someplace where they knew my type of hair. I called and they were able to fit me in same day in about an hr and a half. I made my way to the salon and within the first few minutes I was seen, seated at a sink and had my hair washed. I don't know what kind of shampoo the young lady used but it gave my scalp a tingling sensation and smelled very minty and I will have to admit I throughly enjoyed it. I just moved from Hawaii and needed a change in my hairstyle found this place on Yelp. Love the outcome of my hair, got there at 10am and was out a little before noon, she took her time and her worker are well train on the correct way to wash, set and dry your hair. I went to this Salon with my 9 year old on a Sunday to get her natural hair washed and trimmed and treated. The wait was long but we didn't have an appointment so I understood. I made a mistake of not asking how much the service would cost and assumed it was nothing but a trim and treatment, ( no styling, just blow out and ponytail) well $70 dollars later I was not happy, but like I said it was my mistake. Essentially, I was the hottest of hot messes. All I had was a few bucks for whatever magic trick Marcia could do to fix my hair. And let me tell you Marcia is a certified magician because I underwent a major transformation after just one visit! People actually compliment my hair now. Still getting used to it

I have been going to MBY salon for the past 3 years and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Marcia and her team. Marcia is a very professional, competent, hard working stylist who knows hair. She uses great products and is concerned about the health of your hair and not just a hair style.
