The House of Nutrition was established as Kramer's in 1947 in Chicago. The store moved North to Kenosha in the 1960's and became the House of Nutrition where Mr. Stephen Haught owned the business in the Uptown area of 22nd Avenue. In the fall of 2006, the store moved to it's present location in Downtown Kenosha.
Mr. Steve Ogren managed the store and offered a wealth of knowledge to the community. The House of Nutrition & Wellness was established by Mr. Mark Wistar in November of 2014 and strives to carry a large supply of local and Wisconsin sourced items. Products from local companies include vitamin supplements, herbs, local honey, organic eggs, essential oil and tea.

I brought my mom back with me to this store because the ladies were nice and helpful the first time I went alone. The guy on the other hand attitude towards us was disgusting he made us feel Very UNCOMFORTABLE the whole entire time while we shopped then proceeded to tell us we had to leave because the store was closing we looked at the time on the door they were open for 15 more minutes. Very Unprofessional!!!!!

Fav!!
I am strictly huge on alternatives to pretty much most medicinal choices for our household and I must say this has been my “go to” since 2014.
Great staff, and helpful.
My daughter needed an alternative medicine to on Sunday and they were closing in less than 5 min yet He took time to listen answered my questions and said just come on by I’ll help you out.
I appreciated that greatly.

Such a nice shop! Very nicely organized, clean and the employees have always been informative, helpful and pleasant to chat with. Not to mention the plethora of items they sell. Most people come to this kind of shop with a certain purpose or item in mind, and you'll more than likely find it here. The prices seem average for these kind of products, as they tend to be pricey regardless. This is my go to store in Kenosha for vitamins, essential oils and other natural suff.

I'm so glad this place is hanging on. It's not very green to drive 45 miles to buy food, makeup, lotion, vitamins, which is the distance you'd have to go to get to a larger Natural Foods store, Whole Foods, etc. It's great to be able to support a local business and buy bulk foods, natural, chemical-free beauty products and sunscreen when I'm in town. Besides a tiny section at Woodman's, this is all Kenosha has, so buy their stuff if you like this sort of thing. I've been going here since I was in high school and I love that they moved downtown. This place is somewhat small, so the selection is limited. About as expensive as any other organic/ natural products store. I was able to find the sulfite-free products I was seeking and definitely got the sense I was contributing to the community more than at any other natural foods store I have shopped at. And I got to pet the owner's super cute dog.
