You are about to discover that while Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory traces its heritage back to 1864 when Abraham Lincoln was President, our basic goal has never changed over the past century and a half: to provide families with the finest care, compassion, and professionalism. Guided by our distinguished history, we believe that our services are the most comprehensive of any funeral home in this part of the state.

Indeed, of the approximate 25,000 funeral homes in the nation, Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory has ranked in the top two percent for the past nine years in the National Funeral Directors Associations Pursuit of Excellence program. We know of only two other funeral homes in the State of Missouri that have been so honored.

This is the nineteenth year in a row that Cozean Chapel is being honored for this prestigious award. NFDA says that funeral homes which receive this award are being recognized for "having demonstrated a commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards." A special booth is to be set up on the convention floor which will provide information about the award recipients and reveal various innovative ideas employed by program participants.
Mr. Cozean is a fourth-generation funeral director. He learned the art of conducting funerals from his father and grandfather. Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

She walked us through everything step by step and even made a nice reminder list of things we needed to do after we left. She also was not pushy and was very transparent in pricing. Not to mention she was so caring, patient, and kind in this difficult time for my family. She helped organize
