Sharon's School of Dance opened its doors in 1980, and has provided quality dance instruction, performances, youth and community engagement and semi-professional entertainment ever since! Sharon Arnold and her mother, Kay, created a space for expression, arts, and passion. The school has grown into a well-known, trusted establishment in Shelby County, and continues to grow every day.
When Sharon retired in 2018 she sold the studio to her successor, Molly McFarland. While Sharon may not be in the studio every day, her passion for the students and her dedication to the highest standards of dance education continue to thrive and develop through her work as a Board Member for Sidney Dance Company, and her numerous contributions to the school.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the arts and excited to share their passion with you! Sharon K. Arnold Eikenberry, a Sidney High School graduate and 2003 Hall of Fame inductee, has devoted her life to the Sidney/Shelby County arts community, profoundly touching the lives of thousands of young people and adults with her skills and love for the performing arts.
Sharon's School of Dance is proud to send off young dancers into the professional world. After years of hard work and dedication, we are honored to call these dancers Sharon's School of Dance Alumni! Kimberly Fahnestock started her training at the age of five at Sharon's School of Dance and was a member of the Sidney Dance Company for eight years.
Sidney Dance Company strives to provide dance education, performance opportunities, community outreach, and appreciation for the performing arts in Shelby County and throughout the surrounding areas. It was with this in mind that Sharon Arnold and six of her young dance students began the development of a repertory dance group in 1980.
I orginally joined the Sidney Dance Company solely to perform on stage more often. However, after seven full years of being in the company, I have learned that it means so much more than performing on stage. I have learned how to dance to the fullest of my ability, how to properly treat others with respect, and what I want to do with my future.

A long time ago, in a city (not-so) far away I was a company member of Sharon's School of Dance (aka Sidney Dance Company). It was one of the best times of my life. Sharon is a phenomenal teacher and director with a HUGE passion for dance. This has not changed over the years. I cannot recommend this studio enough, but be warned: she expects a lot of you. She seems tough, and she is, but she is there for you!
