Sharon's School of Dance opened its doors in 1980, and has provided quality dance instruction, performances, youth and community engagement and semi-professional entertainment ever since! Sharon Arnold and her mother, Kay, created a space for expression, arts, and passion. The school has grown into a well-known, trusted establishment in Shelby County, and continues to grow every day.
When Sharon retired in 2018 she sold the studio to her successor, Molly McFarland. While Sharon may not be in the studio every day, her passion for the students and her dedication to the highest standards of dance education continue to thrive and develop through her work as a Board Member for Sidney Dance Company, and her numerous contributions to the school.

Arnold Eikenberry, a Sidney High School graduate and 2003 Hall of Fame inductee, has devoted her life to the Sidney/Shelby County arts community, profoundly touching the lives of thousands of young people and adults with her skills and love for the performing arts.

Kimberly Fahnestock started her training at the age of five at Sharon's School of Dance and was a member of the Sidney Dance Company for eight years.

Sidney Dance Company strives to provide dance education, performance opportunities, community outreach, and appreciation for the performing arts in Shelby County and throughout the surrounding areas. It was with this in mind that Sharon Arnold and six of her young dance students began the development of a repertory dance group in 1980.
