Brandeberry Winery
Brandeberry Winery was founded in 2009 by the late Jim Brandeberry, former Dean of Engineering at Wright State University. With a long history of making award winning amateur wines, Jim decided to open a winery after he retired from Wright State University. As a college professor, Jim was a teacher at heart and loved to teach people about grapes, wine making, and wine tasting.

The winery has a long history of supporting the community through various fundraisers. One cause near and dear to our hearts is the Clark County SPCA. Our annual Dogtoberfest fundraiser provides support to the SPCA. The winery is located between Dayton and Springfield on 10 acres of hilly glacial moraine, close to John Bryan State Park, Clifton Gorge and Glen Helen Nature Preserve.
Services
We invite you to bring your well-behaved four-legged friends to Brandeberry Winery! If you do not have a dog, maybe you can find one here as the SPCA will be holding adoptions at the winery. Bring a blanket or chair to hang out and listen to live music from Skip Hoyt at 1:00-4:00pm. Come hungry to enjoy food trucks on site: Freddies Franks and Burgers and Rudys Smokehouse, and a bake sale with yummy treats to support the cause.

First time to this hidden gem of a winery spot in Ohio. It's a spot that is great, low key and very pleasant for couples and wine lovers to go. Love the hospitality that you get when you walk in. Will definitely be back.

Stopped to try their wines, and stayed to enjoy the setting. Their building is clean and modern, they fill orders quickly. We tried a flight of 6 wines of your choosing. They include crackers, a small bottle of water and a wine glass to take home. There are some food items available. Lovely shaded patio, even a system to allow guests to know if the restrooms are occupied. Very enjoyable visit.

The dry reds were good! The food truck was appreciated. There was live music in a tent, but space was limited due to rain

Wines were very good. Live music was nice. Inside not open, so only Port-O-Lets, kind of a bummer. Overall, a good experience.

We liked the tempranillo wine a lot and ended up purchasing a bottle to take home. Staff was rude. The lady kept trying to take reservations while she was taking our order. She made it seem like we couldn't stay to drink our wine unless we had a reservation for a table. There was barely anyone there. It was a perfectly nice day, so shouldn't be an issue as long as we stay on their property. Building was closed due to COVID, therefore no bathrooms available besides one porta potty that was pretty full. Overall okay experience. Would have been better if the staff would have been nicer.

Stopped here on a late Friday afternoon. When opening the door it was slammed shut and we were told the tasting room was closed. We had to order at the window, once the girl put her chicken strips down. We sat at a side patio as it was raining. We were offered to move to the tent but it wasn't well lighted, no heater lit, and in the rain and wind the sides were flapping open. The tent looks to be the type you would rent for a wedding, it sits about 25 ft from the back door of their house. We were not offered a menu for any type of cheese plate, etc. Our flights came in little plastic cups on a

Love this place! Love the wine! Love the people that work there! Love that dogs are allowed to hang with us! Brought family from out of town last fall and they loved it too! Can't say enough good things about it other than try their spiced, mulled wines! YUM!

They had a Halloween party with a costume contest on October 24, 2020. I called at noon and was told contest at 730pm. Cool. Driving an hour to get there I called halfway there to see if it was still the same and was told yes. I get there at 701pm and they already did the contest. I told them I drove an hour and asked if there was any kind of consolation prize for wasting my time and gas. They said sorry. Nope. That is not a way to run a party in which I verified twice the contest time. Poor management!

Not open inside. Must sit outside at round tables in the grass. View is of cars parked in the lot. Wine was OK. We ordered Cheese and Meat tray which consisted of Ritz crackers, sliced beef sticks, and cheese cubes. Unimpressive. They could do better. Seems popular as it was crowded. Local food truck available for hot food.

The staff were attentive and helpful! Every wine we sampled had good flavor and was very smooth. We did not try any dry wine though. Be mindful of evenings they have music as they do NOT do the sampler flights. We had a watermelon slushy and it was the best wine slushy (not too tangy or bitter) my hubby and I both had every had! Think we have a new favorite! Worth the hour drive for a nice date night!

I happened to detour to stop at Brandeberry Winery during my most recent drive from Canton, OH back to Florida and I have to say that I am beyond satisfied with the results of that 1 hour detour! Their wines are OUTSTANDING! If they delivered to Florida I'd pay any cost to make it happen! Needless to say, next time I am making that 16 hour drive home to see my hometown and family, I will make the detour again. And again, and again, and again! A true gem.

Cute local winery outside of Yellow Springs. The dog was allowed out by the picnic tables. Everybody was friendly and inviting. No idea if they “make their own” and I would compare the wines to the quick wines up at the Ohio island wineries. When you turn in it looks like someone’s house - and that is a bit weird- but, pleasant stop.

Delicious wines! A great stop after a trip to Yellow Spring. Get a wine flight to try a variety of their wines. Bartenders are very friendly. Seating is pretty limited especially near the bar. If you are a sweet wine lover, you will thrive at Brandeberry.

I love this place. It's my favorite summer pass time. I am a lover of sweet wines. Their wine is so flavorful and true to description. The cranberry wine is like drinking a delicious spiked cranberry juice. Same with the black berry as well as Berry Monster. I will say that my two favorites are Forever Home and Not Your Mothers Red, which is the best wine to make Sangria! They are friendly good hearted people and the property is beautiful and relaxing. I also admire their love for animals which shows through their labels, and specialty products.

A pretty drive especially in the fall and friendly service. We tasted both dry red wines and sweet. We especially liked the Cherry Truffle. The prices were reasonable and we bought multiple bottles. Visit Brandeberry and have lunch in Yellow Springs.

What to say....
Went for a wine tasting. Had to go up for each new wine. They insisted on same glass. Didn't want to wash out glass between wines, said "didn't matter to mix reds".
Food was straight from a box, Ritz crackers and nuked brie, on paper plates....

This is the wine version of a dive bar.....

Back on the Ohio Wine trail at Brandelberry Winery, cute place near the town of Yellow Springs. The tasting room is located off the parking lot and has a nice patio in front to enjoy and country scenery and sip some wine. The tasting room is large with plenty of tables and a small bar for sampling wines.

Being a fairly nice Saturday the small bar was packed with people sampling the wine. We found a spot and got a tasting list. Wines available are expansive ranging from dry reds to sweet fruit wines. Always something for everyone. Vines did not seem to be present from looking at the property

What an excellent local cultural gem!!! This place is wonderful all around! The wine, the atmosphere, the staff- love it all! I have come here with large groups and with just a girl buddy and every time, the staff have been friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and causal and makes for a very enjoyable place to try new wines. And there are a lot of wines to try- the menu has around 20 different wines!!! Good thing they have cheap flights at $1 - $1.50 per tasting. And for 6 tastings, you can take your glass home too! I have tried almost all their wines and my favorite so far
