Services
Founded in 1993 to meet the community demand for health services for the homeless, poor and underserved, Malama I Ke Ola Health Center (MIKOHC) recently completed renovations on its new main facility and clinic at the old Ooka Supermarket. This modern, 'green' facility provides significantly more space for patient care and allows providers to deliver the full range of health care services needed by Maui's rapidly growing community.

Just had the best experience with a Dr. Or health clinic ever!
From the front desk to the medical assistant to Dr. Tee and Bethany, they were all very helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate.
I have been apprehensive about seeing a doctor during the current health crisis and starting as a new patient is always difficult. Everyone there was so understanding and kind, I am very grateful I found them🙏

Though I am very appreciative that my family has medical insurance, I'm extremely disappointed with the ongoing lack of communication between either the Dr, Nurse or whomever handles calls from the pharmacist! On multiple occasions we have had prescriptions not ready as indicated or wrong prescriptions ready and the important ones awaiting further communication from patients dr.
I have had to interject myself into these situations and it's a long lengthy voice mail phone tag situation and in some cases no call returned. Medicines are prescribed for a reason and traveling unnecessarily

If you're looking for an OBGYN do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
My close family member is having her first baby, and visited Dr. Zena Monji.
She received a very hostile/uncomfortable checkup by the Dr, since she mentioned she was looking for other options of care.
As a first time mom you have every right to keep your options open and feel comfortable with the healthcare provider that will be by your side for many months.
To this visit Dr.Monji answered zero questions and said "I guess we can take you blood tests even if you're looking for other options"..

This is my second appointment at malama with two different departments and both times I sat in the waiting room 20 mins after checking in and then sat in the back exam room for 45 mins and an hour for the other one before a dr even came in. Both times those physicians didn't seem to be Paying attention to what I was saying at all and I felt dismissed.
Also the girl at the check in desk to see the doctor had other patients charts and names and registration forms face up for all to see . I mentioned to her that it's a HIPPA privacy violation and she should turn the papers over and she

Dr. Altura was the delivery Dr. to my second born and I had the best experience!!!! I checked in at 12:30am and he was the on call Dr.
I really wanted Dr. Casey to be the delivery Dr. since he was with my first born but I'm glad it was Dr. Altura.
Dr. Altura coached me (and the nurse Susan) and I could tell he was tired but he couldn't have been more helpful. He's the most skilled delivery Dr. that I know of!!!!
I had doubts about Dr. Altura but after this experience I only want him to help delivery my kids in the future.
If your looking for a prenatal and delivery Dr. I recommend

I'm Very impressed with this clinic. Dr. Vaz Dr. Lee and nurse Ivy are outstanding. Brian at the front desk is also very friendly warm nice and has everything that he can to provide the best service the whole team there is amazing! Even when you check out and pay everybody is so nice warm and welcoming. The clinic is very clean and has a nice feel to the entire building. There is plenty of parking with protected solar panels to park under if it's raining or super hot.

I'm writing a review for a health center ? Yes! I have too because this place was awesome. Seriously I was greeted by two gentlemen at the front desk. They both were very professional and very kind. I was then escorted to the back office to see my doctor... Dr. Alison , her staff and nurse were operating at the same caliber, professional, and prompt. I felt like a queen!
I'm actually looking forward to going again.
It looks like they have multiple services under one roof. Dentistry, medical , etc. This makes things convenient for busy people like you and me.

Love Dr. Allisson Phillips. Everyone and I'm serious, from young filippo boy maintenance, I wanna say Josh but not sure, Penny will help you with Quest & fax application. the front desk Lolli all of them, nurse Jason & Marisa. Even the security guard! I'm new there so I can't mention all their names. But everyone there is on top of their job PLUS they are all just co kind & compassionate.

The Doctors and Nurses at Malama I Ke Ola are amazing. I started going to the offices about 3 weeks ago and have had more care and progress with my health situations than I had in 7 years in California. They listen attentively and make sure to spend plenty of time with you to address all your needs and questions. Dr. Casey, Dr. O'Sullivan, Allison Philipps and Stephanie Fiore have all treated me so well. I have so much love for the nurses and doctors here and would highly recommend them to anyone. They don't know how much they have helped me in these few weeks after so many years of incompetent

Dental Services - The assistants and front desk staff are very unprofessional. I am sitting in the waiting room and listening to the drama in their life and the drama in their work place. There are 3 of us here in the waiting room and I can hear them swearing. This is not the first time I'm experiencing their unprofessional service. Once during a procedure the an assistant looking into my mouth and said "what the heck"...like serioisly!!! I had to wait 10 minutes to just check-in for my appointment because the person at the front desk was on the phone...not even an awknowledgement

The nursing staff, providers, and clerical staff are resourceful, kind, and determined to exceed your needs.
The Malama I ke ola Health Center cares for most the high risk children, and adults on the island. Oftentimes, this goes unrecognized by onlookers.
The registered nurses do a great job with case managing these very special patients
