The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home was built and opened for business in 1975, by Carl and Carol Spallino. For the next 35 years, they have spent their lives serving the people of Charleroi and surrounding areas. In 2011, Carl and Carol brought in another Funeral Director, Joe Lopez, to help with the business, and to ensure that the funeral home will serve the community for another 35 years.

Born and raised in Belle Vernon, Joe got his start in funeral service in 2005, after graduating from Penn State University and The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

Mr. Lopez handled all arrangements for my father in law and my father, both of whom had to be flown from Florida to be buried in their Pennsylvania hometowns. He was professional, courteous, accommodating to any and all requests and patient with our grieving process. At the worst moments of our lives, this funeral home was the ray of sunshine we needed.
