Services
It takes a special set of skills to provide mental healthcare to children and adolescents. At Auburn Psychological Wellness Center, several of our providers specialize in services for children and adolescents. Check out each of our services below and then visit our provider profiles to learn more. At APWC, we can provide counseling to children as young as age five.
Sometimes medication can be helpful for managing your mental health. If medication is appropriate to address your concerns, our psychiatric provider will work with you to find a treatment strategy that fits your needs. In addition, our provider will help you identify environmental and behavioral changes that can reduce distress and promote psychological wellness.
Psychological assessment, also called psychological evaluation or psychological testing, can be helpful for several reasons. Support planned medical procedures (e.g., gender confirmation surgery for gender dysphoria). Assessment includes an interview with a psychologist to learn more about your concerns and history.
I work with children and adolescents who have mental health concerns, have experienced a traumatic event, or are facing a difficult family situation. I offer a neutral territory to help couples work through tough issues or to put aside baggage that negatively affects the relationship. Life can bring unexpected challenges.
I am trained in general and multicultural psychology, so I work effectively across a number of clinical concerns with clients of diverse identities and backgrounds. I am a Licensed Psychologist (AL#2165) with a Masters in Health Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University.
