Solid State Lighting (SSL) refers to lighting applications that make use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or light-emitting polymers. While many people might consider LED lighting a new technology, SST has been working on it for over 20 years. SST was founded in 1996 as an LED chip and wafer manufacturing company.
In its early years, SST used Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technology to fabricate LED chips that were sold to assembly companies. In 2000, SST won the Competitive Award from the Kansas Enterprises Technology Corporation to develop Aluminum-Indium-Gallium-Phosphide (AlInGaP) High Brightness LED (HB-LED) products using MOCVD.

While many people still think of LED lighting as a new technology, SST has been working on it for over 20 years. Founded in 1996 as an LED chip manufacturer, SST originally used Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) technology in its LED chip fabrication process. The LED chips produced were then sold to various LED packaging assembly companies.
RGB Lighting stands for Red, Green, and Blue lighting. When you combine these colors you can create any color including white light. RGB (color) can enhance any commercial property. Imagine turning your property green during St. Patricks day or showcasing your school's colors at a big game. RGB works really well with LEDs and SST is expert in designing RGB Fixtures.
ST30 and ST40 Linear fixtures have been used by designers and architects in various green wall projects across the world. SST's patented LED technology provides an effective, cost-efficient, and attractive means to grow healthy and vibrant green wall plants. SST's ST30 and ST40 Greenwall Strip light both provide excellent lighting coverage for the entire wall.
It is ideal to place rows of lights along the ceiling at different angles, as this provides an even light distribution. In addition, plants grow towards the light, and green walls look better with plants growing upwards. Lights along the floor may lead to plants growing "downward" towards the light and eventually even covering the floor lights.
The soffit area between an exterior wall and roofline (especially over a garage) is a great place to apply SST's LED lighting. Our SR25 and SR50 can lights are ideal for this purpose. Both lights are UL wet-listed and provide coverage (beam angle) of either 90 or 110 degrees. SST's ST40 4 fixtures are also great for soffits.
