Dorothy and Tom Mccleary loved helping and caring for their neighbors. Dorothy was the town's cook serving the best pies and rolls in the land. Her neighbors knew that she was always there when they were hungry or just wanted a sweet piece of pie to sink their teeth into. She came by it honestly, her father and grandfather were both known for feeding the people around them.
Her father, Joe Redel was a legendary fisherman standing 6'4 tall, would work the mines during the day, and take his fishing rod down to the river after work to catch enough trout to feed the families in his mining camp. As more and more travelers found refuge in Roundup, Dorothy and Tom saw an opportunity to bring their hospitality to the people traveling through their hometown.

Great stay! We specifically chose to stay in Roundup over Billings because of the reviews for this motel and it was definitely the right choice! This was our first stop coming from Canada, and our first time staying at Big Sky Motel. We’ll definitely stay again next time we pass through. Kind and accommodating, family owned business, with very clean, well kept, and dog friendly rooms which was perfect for us! There’s a beautiful seating area just steps away from every room, food and gas near by, and all at an affordable price!

I stay at the Big Sky every time I am in town. Owners are great and have been accommodating during every stay the past 35 years. I will continue to stay here, but do have a few suggestions after my recent visit with my Mom accompanying me.
Please consider the following to make some bathrooms handicapped accessible:
1. Raised toilets for older people or people with physical limitations
2, Handicap accessible showers
3. Handrails
4. Attached rooms with a handicapped room for potential caretaker
5. More outlets for medical devices such as C-Paps/oxygen
More mirrors and some drawers would also

This little motel is a hidden gem! Morgan was incredibly friendly and helpful, quickly providing a pack n play for my 11 month old. His demeanor made me so happy to be supporting his small family business! The motel hasn't seen much updating, but it is very clean and even the older fixtures are in great shape. A newer ac unit kept us cool, and the large room made wrangling my three young kids easier. Our stay here was a welcome respite in a very long road trip. We would absolutely stay here again!

I have been staying at this motel quite a while for work at a local nursing home. Morgan who runs the motel always greets guests with smiles and is very courteous (allowing me a late checkout due to working night shift). Last time I stay at this motel I have met the very nice and hard-working housekeeper who let me enter room earlier than their regular check-in hours. My rooms have been very clean and bed comfortable at all times. Thank you so much. I am always happy to be able to stay at the Big Sky Motel.

Above and beyond! Compassionate, caring service! After being up over 24 hours and driving straight for 14 hours, these folks got a room ready for us several hours before we were technically supposed to check in. My 88 year old father needed a raised toilet seat and voila! One was provided. I mentioned I had forgotten his shower stool and they brought one to our room. Management and housekeeping work together with absolute precision. Excellent value, clean rooms and comfortable beds. I'd give 10 stars if I could!

We have stayed at Big Sky Motel in Roundup many times. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are extremely clean. They have recently added coffee/hot chocolate machines to the rooms, and have made other improvements as well. The price is very reasonable. We will definitely stay here again whenever we are in the area.
