The staff here can get you back on your feet and help you put your best foot forward. Even if your dogs are barking when you arrive, they'll be content after treatment by the experts here at 707 North Morgan Street. Dr. W.L. Mauney established this medical practice in 1932 as a one-person office. It was the first podiatry clinic in Cleveland County and the eighth in the state of North Carolina.

Dr. W.L. Mauney's mission to diagnose and treat the foot and ankle problems of the residents of the Foothills is still being fulfilled today with the current staff of two doctors and five staff members. Dr. Jeff Mauney, Dr. W.L. Mauney's son, and Dr. Ron Maskarinec, both board-certified, keep abreast of the evolving treatments and products in the field of podiatry so they can offer their patients top-quality care.
Services
Foothills Podiatry, P.A., provides medical and surgical services for diseases of the foot and ankle, including in-office surgery, outpatient surgery and in-office vascular testing for all ages. Drs. Jeff Mauney and Ron Maskarinec have hospital privileges at Kings Mountain Hospital, Cleveland Regional Hospital, and Cleveland Ambulatory Services, an accredited facility in Shelby that specializes in outpatient surgery and endoscopy procedures.
Both doctors of Foothills Podiatry maintain privileges at Cleveland Regional Hospital, Kings Mountain Hospital and Cleveland Ambulatory Services. Keeping current with the podiatric profession is a top priority with both doctors. They maintain current and up to date credentials in foot surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) practices the medical, surgical, and biomechanical treatment of the human foot, ankle, and associated structures. Although we specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of problems affecting the foot and ankle, Doctors of Podiatric Medicine are also highly trained health care providers.
This should not be surprising since the human foot and ankle contain more than 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments, and feet carry a person an average 70,000 miles during a lifetime. Their patients may not know the difference between the talus and the big toe, but Dr. Mauney and Dr. Maskarinec do, and patients can trust them to treat all diseases of the foot and ankle both medically and surgically!
Diabetic shoes are available through the Medicare Diabetic Shoe Program. This program provides Medicare patients with high-quality shoes with three pairs of protective shoe inserts every year. Medicare pays 80 percent of the cost. More information is available in the sidebar on the right. Mauney and Maskarinec cast custom orthotics and braces for the foot and ankle at the office and have them fabricated at a specialized facility.

We brought our son to this office for an infected ingrown toenail. We saw Dr. Maskarinec and couldn't be more pleased. He was very kind and explained everything to a very scared 8 year old. Everyone we encountered at this office was friendly and professional.

Dr. Lawrence provided surgery on my big toe December 18, 2019. Now here we are almost a month later and I’m excited to share the progress that’s been made. Thanks so much for the coordination from your team, the knowledge and professionalism I experienced was exceptional!!

Dr. Lawrence removed a very small piece of glass from my foot that was hurting me big several months ago in a quick, painless, confident, skilled, professional and friendly manner. Recently a MD wanted to inject pain medicine into my big toe prior to removing my nail. I sought out Dr. Lawrence and just as before she expertly and painlessly (without any pain medicine ) removed the problem nail.. Thank you Dr. Lawrence.

I called Foothills Podiatry about my severely infected ingrown toenail and they scheduled my appointment for the next day. I saw Dr. Lawrence and she was amazing! There was a short wait, I did not go back immediately, and the lobby was filled however once I got back there things went very smoothly and quicker than I expected. It is now a week later and my foot feels back to normal, I don’t believe it is completely healed yet but the pain I was experiencing beforehand is completely gone. Thank you Foothills Podiatry, Dr. Lawrence, the nurse we saw, and your staff! Everyone I came into contact

Today was my second visit to Foothills Podiatry.
My appointment was at 9:30 to have my foot checked and to be fitted for shoes.
At 10:10 I went to the receptionist to find out why I hadn’t been seen yet, even though several other patients had come and gone while I waited.
I was informed that “we are trying to clear a room for you, would you like to reschedule?”
I told her to cancel my appointment and that I would go elsewhere and she replied “ok”.
Very poor customer service for what is supposed to be a professional office.

Dr. Mauney is awesome but he is getting ready to retire 😢! Dr Lawerence SUCKS POINT BLANK PERIOD 😡! Don’t waste your time going to her bc she is the worst! Took 2 weeks to get an appt after being referred by Dr Mauney & she did absolutely nothing for me yesterday 6/18/19! Thought I was getting the corrective procedure I needed for my toe but the only thing she told me was that she could schedule it sometime after the 4th of July!! We could have done that over the phone without me or her wasting time or me wasting my gas!

Dr. Lawerence is amazing!!! My son had a horrible toe infection and she was soooo good!! Got us into infection disease when it was necessary. She is current on her meds and treatments. We had to call on the weekend she was on-call and she never seemed to mind:). Shelby is lucky to have her and I can’t say enough great things!

Was here about 12 years ago. Nurse and doctor were great. Went in for a consult on January 2018 and was really disappointed. Doctor Mauney didn’t look at my information said he could not help me. Charged me 100 dollars for less than5 minutes. Look for another doctor
